Hello there. I only got an email with a pass notification of the entrance examination. Not really looked like a certificate. But it was stated in the email that it was informal notification, unofficial version. The formal notification of acceptance and enrollment forms will be then sent on or after July.
Again, my friend who accepted by MEXT scholarship last semester told me that if the applicant are accepted, the acceptance letter as well as pledge from MEXT will be sent to you via supervisor or head. Good luck!
In my case my prospective professor told me that I passed the selection from the university and he told me to wait for the final result although I did not get any formal mail of confirmation from the university. Moreover, he asked me those general questions about my departure (airport from which I will depart) and about my visa processing too. Now you guys really confused me a lot.
Bro, did you get any further notification from your professor about university selection for MEXT? Actually your case is quite similar like mine. My professor also asked me all these questions after submitting my documents.

Last month he confirmed university selection and told me to wait for the final decision which will be published in later part of April most probably. In the meanwhile, he suggested me to prepare for entrance exam as I have to take this exam when I get accepted finally, although I am confused about this.

I think so..Did you manage any supervisor, or directly contacted in the university for admission?...I think it is the difference...Because in my case I was confirmed by my professor rather than mailing me from university...and I did not gave any oral or any other exam yet except answering a formal email questionnaire......
I guess so. I sought admission directly through the university. Actually, I was confused because the email sent to me did not specify about the MEXT final decision. The content of the mail said that the formal notification of acceptance and enrollment forms will be mailed by late July. But i believe its the MEXT decision the sender trying to imply.
