MEXT Scholarship through University Recommendation

Hi,
ya..I think there are some would be graduates too..but they put up a list of people (in accordance to the university) who are for going for 2011 MEXT..i know it's far from accurate, but we can consider a look at potential people who are going =x

well, the thing is...
university-recommended MEXT students are quite few compare to G2G.
We re belong to 2011 batch, but not quite "tht" 2011 :p
and we re definitely not 2012 batch, since most of us, if MEXT permits :p, will enroll on October 2011.

well, i hope i will be in Japan this October...
keep praying for that...day and night, waiting for MEXT announcement is killing me :(
i wont stop being restless until i step on Narita Airport and pass the immigration checkpoint.

Haha! I like this sentence: i wont stop being restless until i step on Narita Airport and pass the immigration checkpoint. 👍

does anyone knows someone who brought family to japan too? i have husband, and im afraid that 150 000 yen will not be enough for us, especially in tokyo...i know that we can get some job there, but anyway...

I ll bring my husband to Tokyo,
but he has working visa in japan, since he s working with Japanese company in Osaka,
i ever heard several indonesian student who bring their families to Tokyo,
150,000 is surely not enough, they told me, minimum 180,000 yen for a family with kid. So, one of you should find baito at least. Try to go for a danchi/ public housing lottery after one year living in certain area--because tht s teh requirement, min.1 year living in the area before applying. Danchi surely can reduce your accommodation expense.
FYI, 180,000 yen is a minimum living standard for Indonesian...and Indonesian living standard is the lowest you can imagine. No going out to pub or whatsoever.

Im from Serbia, so Im used to low standard :)... And what about family rooms in international students dormitory? Do u know something about that?

as far as I know from TokyoTech,
they dont provide a room for family in International students dormitory by direct application,
we can apply to univ.housing for family after several months, by lottery, not everybody can get it...well, if i can say too hard to get it in the first shoot.
They advised us to come first, try to look for private rented apartment by ourself, then we can bring our spouse after tht, not only because of the housing, the visa application also takes time.

Hajimemashite.. this is my second post, I hope I could find the opinion from this thread :D

Actually, I REALLY need an opinion from everyone who knew about admission system in Japanese University.
Here's the case:
- Early April 2011: I contacted prof because I was in the middle of scholarship process that held by private organization (they are expecting me to have a correspondence with Prof in one of Japanese Uni)
- Late April 2011: I got the invitation to take the examination by video conference via Skype.
- Early May 2011 : I took the oral examination and a week after that I got the email from my sensei that I already passed the entrance exam. Note: After this confirmation, he recommended me to apply the U-U MEXT scholarship as well (since I stated that I could not fund by study unless there's a scholarship). so: I applied for 2 scholarship scheme by may 2011.
- Late May 2011 : I sent all required documents to my uni by mail.
- Early June 2011 : I got the LoA for October Intake and 'application of Certificate of Eligilibilty (CoE)' which need to be resent as soon by mail.

My Question is: in the application of CoE that student affairs sent me and i resent them back, they (note: university) marked in that page that the one who sponsored my study is Japanese Government. DID I GET A SCHOLARSHIP ALREADY??

My professor still not sure and still gathering all the info.
One thing for sure: I didn't attach any bank report (coz i don't have any), and for someone who obtain the Japanese Government Scholarship, no need to sent any bank report (from the instruction of filling the CoE).
SO: DID I GET or IN THE PROCESS OF GETTING THE SCHOLARSHIP?
anyone??? I really need some opinion.
Many thanks..

as far as i know, before you get government scholarship, you need to sign certain document, "a pledge". Have you signed it yet? if you have, so you ve already got the scholarship.

I haven't signed any certain documents besides the form of CoE application from the Uni and have sent them back already..

so..I guess I just nominated..
but...Why they (university) already filled the most of CoE part including the proposed arrival date, port entry in Japan, the amount of Yen and the marked of Japanese Government as the one who provide my study (note: they just asked me to fill in my passport number and expire date), only.. the rest was filled by them.

any idea?

thanks in advance :D

CoE makes the visa application easier.
Even when you want to invite your spouse to japan, you also need to give them CoE.
I have also ever filled an application for exchange student 3 years ago, attached with immigration form for CoE. I filled it as if i d get the scholarship (which I got after several selection), port of entry and so on (i filled narita, but in fact i came from Fukuoka airport :p). So, everybody who filled the application also filled the immigration form, even they re not selected in the end.
so you havent got the CoE right? you only filled the form for CoE?
my advice, just keep praying, you re still in the process of MEXT selection.
...did you know, for this year first selection through embassy in Indonesia, they only picked 70 people, it used to be 100. because of the crisis kana...

thank you for the explanation, actually I have no idea before I read your reply...this is my first time to apply in Japan Uni :D

So..thank you. avoiding the wrong hope is better than only wondering about..heheh..

Oh y, about embassy in Indonesia, I only know about the reduction. 30 percentage less? wow....significant.. :(

Same thing here. I applied to 窶ケテ」窶佚・ and still no answers. I think the problems caused by the tsunami/earthquake might delay things a bit.
The differences in dates of the results might be because of the type of quota. In my case, it is not PGP, so it should have arrived already.
Hope it helps :-)

Hi, I also applied to Kyudai - what department have you applied for?
