MEXT Scholarship through University Recommendation

yes, same here, i received a lot of e-mails and phone calls on March 11 from people who know i'm in love with Japan and they were all asking "you see? you still want to go to Japan?", my answer was "yes, now even more!"

University Recommended students are expecting to receive MEXT result in early July.
I am going for 2 months Vacation starting from July till end of AUgust. My question is:
1) Will MEXT require us to send reply when receiving MEXT result?
2) When do we need to submit our passport for Embassy for Visa Applications?

as far as TokyoTech has informed me, in July we should sign a pledge...and the pledge must be sent back to Japan by airmail.
for visa, in Indonesia, I normally need 4 working days. So, as long as you have time, let say 2 weeks before your departure, it will be okay.

Thanks for the information. It applies to me as well since I am also going to TokyoTech. In this case, then I have no choice but to wait till the MEXT letter arrives only can depart for the vacation.

just asking, did you get email with attachment from TokyoTech recently regarding Japan update and all? your supervisor should be the one who sent it.

I did not receive any updates from my Supervisor.
I e-mailed to her about 2 weeks ago just for greeting purposes, yet she also didn't reply to me. But my supervisor is known to have projects in rural areas....

Perhaps you should re-send a reminder e-mail, as she might have overlooked your previous e-mail. Happened to me before.

if i get MEXT scholarship, I will definitely go.
im waiting for Early July for final decision from them.
Plus, I am pregnant now i have no worry about live in Tokyo,
it will be different story if I get accepted in Fukushima Daigaku or somewhere else nearer to the nuclear plant.

I was nominated for a Monbusho by Keio University and the suspense is killing me. I was originally told I would learn the final result by the end of April, but have since been told to wait and be patient. I see some of the posts on this forum mention receiving the final notice at the start of July. I'm just wondering where people learned that information. I'm also wondering if any of the other Keio nominees have heard a new date for receiving the final notice.

they informed me about the date of the final result by official letter, signed by the president of Tokyo Inst. of Technology,
it stated tht the result will be available on early July,
then, the head of department also sent me email about tht too,
my supervisor also...

so, at least 3 people have already told about the same thing to me.

Same case here, I was supposed to get the monbukagakusho selection result in the beginning of may (it is stated in preliminary notification letter from TokyoTech International Student Exchange Division), but in May 11th they informed me that the Monbukagakusho's final selection result will be announced the end of May 2011. I will wait for it patiently and I'm hoping that they won't change the schedule again
Have you contacted keioU admission division or your supervisor?

According to the last email I received from Keio, we are to hear the result around late June, and our flight is arranged to be around Sept 12.

Don't worry, No one in the past has been rejected. Confirmed by Keio official.

Hi Chikiball, I wrote to the administration office after the first deadline passed, but they said they haven't received the result from MEXT yet and I should keep waiting patiently.
Hi INE04, Wow it sounds like your program is giving you a lot more information than mine. I was only told that there is no guarantee of receiving the award and to just wait patiently for the result. (mwah wah). Will you please post went you receive your result? Thanks.

Yes, they also told me to wait for their contact a little longer.
I think, mext doesn't set the exact announcement date, but i am sure that july is the end of announcement period.

INE04, that's amazing your program is so confident. I'm a little leery of being identified on this message board, but I'm at a different program and campus than you. Anyway, thanks for sharing the information. I'll post again if I hear anything.

Same thing here. I applied to 窶ｹﾃ｣窶佚･ and still no answers. I think the problems caused by the tsunami/earthquake might delay things a bit.

The differences in dates of the results might be because of the type of quota. In my case, it is not PGP, so it should have arrived already.
