Hi all,
really nice to meet so many ppl here especially from Malaysia!
i am also going to apply MEXT this year and from engineering background as well!
from you all information, during the time in university, i have a chance to work as research assistant with my lecturer and with a professor from a japanese university.
recently, i have sent email to that professor and he has agreed to accept me to do master under his supervision.
hence, i would like to ask that do i have any advantages if i apply for MEXT scholarship?
Do i still need 2 sit for the exams which conducted by the embassay even though i had obtain the letter of acceptance?
Besides, regarding to the field of study and study program in Japan, can i ask professor there to send me a sample or i need to create a new topic by my own?
i now feel really headache abt it especially is the study program part, i really hope that somebody who had obtained the scholarship can give me a hint of it!!
Thanks!
Hi for those who are from Penang,
Are you going to take bus from Penang to KL on 31 March?
How many of you depart from Penang island on that day?
I think I might want to join you.
Will be departing one day earlier I suppose. 31st is kinda too rush.
Hi everyone,
I`m from Australia, going to Shizuoka Prefectural University in April.
In response to the question from SilverPenciled, I`ve also only been told the week of my departure with no specific date yet. I`ve been on a few different scholarships to Japan before with the government etc. and they`ve always only confirmed my departure date 1-2 weeks in advance, so don`t get too worried about not being informed yet hehe...I think the Malaysians are talking about leaving on the 31st to attend a sending-off party that their embassy is holding for them.
A question for anyone going to a university in Nagoya/Tokai area (seems like there are a few of you), has anyone arranged to arrive at Chuubu International Airport in Nagoya instead of Narita Airport? Or is anyone planning to request arrival there? This airport is much closer to Shizuoka than Narita, and looks like there`s a direct bus from the airport to the train station near my apartment, so I was considering making a request to arrive in Nagoya instead. Anyone know if this would be possible?
yeah thanks, think I`ll do that...narita airport and nagoya airport are actually kinda the same distance from my city, so chances are they`ll just want to arrange my tickets for narita...but the transport from nagoya airport to shizuoka is soooooo much easier! I`ll see how it works out...well i remember reading somewhere that they'll send you to the closest international airport to your city. but, if i were you i'd also send an email to whom ever was helping you out at the embassy and ask if you can request the chiba airport.
and wow the sending off party is kinda cutting it close isn't it? march 31st
ours is on the 23rd
Thanks to clockworkorange for replying me!!
For your information, since i know the Professor quite well and met him already, so he just straight away accept me as research student in his university without sending the proposal to him.
I think i will email and ask him for the research topic, but i just wonder izzit the correct procedure to do so?
Anyway, i will try my best in applying MEXT, although the application is quite competitive, however i still hope that i gt chance to further my studies in japan later!
You're departing Malaysia for Japan on the 31 st ???!!! is it that soon ! I was only informed that I will be leaving in the first week of April but no specific dates. does anyone else know their departure date ?
I haven't even gotten my visa yet...
cookie,
wow, that seems really inconvenient. Is it just cheaper to go to narita? I remember something from the guidelines saying something like, 'to save money, you will be sent to narita(unless stated otherwise by your university), and will be responsible for all travel expenses from there'. I hope I get sent straight to osaka...
yeah thanks, think I`ll do that...narita airport and nagoya airport are actually kinda the same distance from my city, so chances are they`ll just want to arrange my tickets for narita...but the transport from nagoya airport to shizuoka is soooooo much easier! I`ll see how it works out...
haha, yeah my embassy isn`t giving us a send off, I don`t think there`s many people here who got the scholarship, and the country is so big it would be too hard to get everyone from all the cities together in one place I guess!! you guys are lucky!!
Miss yin say i will be going narita airport but im going hokkaido.. shudnt they drop me at new chitose airport cuz when i ask my supervisor how to go to hokudai from airport he only tell me from new chitose airport...
