2) Your research topic upon arrival in Japan: The whole research proposal except for the timetable
4) Study program in Japan:Timetable

Aah i seeit all depends on how many are selected *in my country is only 2 as far as i know- I'm sure in other countries such as US they select more people*
I have a question based on pure curiosity:
If someone received the research student scholarship and doesn't enroll in school, what happens? You have an advisor at a university -- are you technically a member of that university, then? I assume you would get to use that advisor's facilities, including the university library and laboratory... I wonder if you get a student ID/get to stay in student housing?
And after the two years ends, what happens with your research? Does the Japanese education ministry have to evaluate it at all?
Sorry if these are obvious questions, but I almost everything I've read talks about: get the scholarship -> enroll in school -> get your scholarship changed to grad student status and then you attend graduate school like normal. I'm wonder what happens if you don't do that last part...
You would just return to your country and that's it. (It's specified in the guidelines)
I don't know if the Japanese Education Ministry evaluates your research at the end, though. I would assume they do?
Yes, you would be a member of the university, get a student ID and all, is just that you would not be degree-seeking student, so it would just say "kenkyuusei" in your ID. It's basically a "visiting researcher" status. Hope that helps.

@SayuKami21 i think all countries have the same process for the postgraduate scholarship, where you first have to be selected as a research student and then seek entrance to the school through the masters o doctorate admition process.
I have not seen the scholarship being able to be used to do a residency. All I know is that it is only granted for full studies.
Please educate me on the process of applying for MEXT scholarshipHi there again. I really just want to work on the proposal and contact professors until i finish it. I wouldn't want them to think my proposal is half hearted since it's not finished yet. I think contacting them on April will be my objective.

I have a question regarding the recommendation letters.
It says:
Please write your full name above. Give this form and one of the envelopes marked "confidential" and addressed to yourself to the person you have asked to recommend you. Ask this person to place the completed form in the envelope, seal the envelope, sign across the seal, and send it back to you. Return the unopened envelope with your application.
It says "and send it back to you" not "give it back." Like they literaly have to put a stamp and send it to me. Giving it to directly to me isn't enough?
I feel like I'm asking a very dumb question but I've never heard of this before. Anyway, why I'm asking this? Because they asked for two copies, so how I'm supposed to make copies when the original is sealed. And I guess I shouldn't put them in an envelope, that's just for the original.
Yeah, ask your embassy. Here in Mexico they told us to skip the envelope part because we had to submit copies.Does not have to be postmarked (note I am Canadian and remember that every nation has a different set of particularities and interpretations of the rules).
EDIT: your followup question - I brought it sealed to the consulate before copies were made. It is imperative that it is sealed at that point for obvious reasons.
