I got the letter of acceptance by the Uni by 14th Feb. And now im waiting for the final result from Mext.
Wow u guys already got acceptance from by the university....so many days..Congratulations for that....but my programme is that""MEXT scholarship for applicants to our graduate school

Our graduate school of Agricultu (GSA) has been selected to
carry on "The International Priority Graduate Programs (PGP)
-Advanced Graduate Courses for International Students" by
the Ministry of Education, Japan.
We have the financial supports (MEXT scholarship)"............ And from university i do not get any acceptance letter...actually i have little knowledge about MEXT.....hoping for the best...Do u know about this application?.Please inform me...

After I got an email from my professor, look like I have to sent more document, which is the research student application, before the deadline.
So I'm filling it and preparing these document again.
How are you? Did you have to do this too?

They didn't ask me to fill up the research student application, but they asked me to fill up a pledge form and "Photo Mounting for Student ID". My deadline is August 1 or else the scholarship won't be granted (>.<)
I'm also waiting for the notification of acceptance from them that I could show to the embassy when applying for the visa which they asked me to do after July16 for some reason.
How about you? Any other documents aside from the research student application?
How are the others doing?

I still didn't receive any other documents except for a research student application.
However they did tell me that the international department will contact me soon. (I think it will be about pledge like you said)

Today I get mail from my Sensei, he said that he had received the documents and now asking to admission office about the letter of recommendation.

I see.
My professor also just mailed me about a MEXT scholarship pledge as expected.
So I will have to sent the pledge together with the application.

Hi, I am new to this forum.
I received the acceptance certificate from the dean of the graduate school and the Pledge from my professor.
Now, my PhD starts October 1. I am told that I am not allowed to travel to Japan before 2 weeks before this date (so, from September 18 I can enter the country). As in my case, it takes about a month to obtain an apartment. I would therefore like to travel to Japan in the beginning of September.
MEXT says the following:
(7) Arrival in Japan: Applicant must be able to leave for and arrive in Japan between the 1st and 7th of April 2014, or within two weeks of the date set by the receiving university for the beginning of the semester (in principle, in September or October). Travel expenses will not be provided if the Applicant chooses to travel to Japan before this set period.
But, my professor told me that I was now allowed to arrive before September 18th.
Is this true? Can someone tell me if I am allowed to enter Japan before September 18?

Hi, I'm waiting for the final results from Osaka University as well! Which faculty are you going to? I can see that you got your results, but I was told that mine would come out around the end of June, so still a month of waiting.
I just wanted to ask you, how did they tell you about the results? Did you receive an e-mail from the office or a written notice by mail?

Thanks for your advise...but actually previously i said that my process was started only last month....so no rush for this....may be i have to wait untill last june or july.....And i thought u guys applied one or two month ago...so u got the result....its ok...keep in touch...

In preparation for application next year I have read this forum. It was fun to see all your stories and results! Thank you all for the very helpful information.
For those of you who went the route of University recommendation, (I am thinking most about this route because I already know 3 professors, all at different universities, who have published on the subject of what will become my MA Thesis) you began the process in the fall of 2013? The embassy recommendations were begun early this year? Also - for those who have heard that they will go in October, are you both Uni rec and Emb rec? I seem to be thinking that the Embassy recommendation is submitted early 2014, and you go either early 2015 or October 2015. Is this correct? Would my application next year have me arrive in 2016?

Hi Jay!
you can't apply both uni rec and emb rec at the same time. in my country the emb rec usually starts in early April, and usually the awardee will go to japan in spring or fall semester of the following year. For uni rec, it's different each uni, I myself already started looking for professor around november last year and the submission deadline was mid of January.

oh my :? I haven't sent my pledge yet (>_<) and my professor hasn't asked me about those documents yet. Ooohh... I'll send the pledge this week (>__<) it's 'cuz they're asking for different sizes of photographs.
