official work time its end in japan, i think we need to wait until next week because Saturday and Sunday its week end so maybe until Monday we got the results its so hard waiting like this.

i don't want to be so pessimist but i think that people who don't get the scholarship doesn't get an email saying that you are failed so maybe we just failed and our professor doesn't want to tell us ??

But dude, seriously, I think even if we fail, our professors would tell us. Also, the "not receiving/not informed" thing was done by the embassy. I know, 'cuz that's what they did to me haha.
Anyways, let's hope for a better tomorrow next week

The prof would definitely tell, accept or reject.
It would be mighty rude of them not to say anything.

It's until Tuesday....red marked on the calendar.
Come on, don't be so pessimistic.. we're all waiting for the result here. My professor said he didn't know when the result will be announced, so he asked me to be more patient.
I'm also getting impatient, since I don't have any backup plan. I've already missed lots of other opportunity just to wait for this scholarship.
but let's wait a bit more and let's hope for the best for all of us.
May all of us get the scholarship. (^_^)b

Actually that tuesday is also a holiday because it makeup for the holiday on the sunday.
Don't worry about that. Professor will definitely sent us an email about the result! Please be patient and wait for the result.

i already phoned my professor, he told me the results this year its so late from the past years, he don't know why but he asked me to be more patient and hope to get good news maybe Wednesday because starting from tomorrow until Tuesday its golden week again.

I'm applying through university recommendation. I think raj, rabie, teddy and seeleth are also the same.
The and the grant receiver's supposed to arrive in October. It's supposed to be announced by the end of April.
But none of us get the result yet. And our professors don't know when it'll be announced.

Hi again kokwai,
As for me, currently I'm applying for the University recommendation only. I don't think we must have good japanese language skill before applying for the scholarship, not really sure, maybe if you're applying for the program that's going to be taught in Japanese, but for international course which is taught in English, I don't think it's necessary.

Hi Kokwai,
Yes, first you have to find professor who wants to be your academic advisor. You have to contact him/her directly by email. Usually the professor will ask you what's your purpose in studying in his/her lab. I've seen someone post about how to email professor for the first time. maybe you can google it.

I am in the same boat as you. I have applied to Informatics Department and was recommended to MEXT as well.
Results should be out in a couple of days (Hopefully).
Do you have any idea as to how many people were recommended by Kyoto U ?
