hey guys im filling my forms now and im confused about a few things i would really appreciate if someone could help me with them.
firstly, educational background: what do i write in the degree awarded section for elementary and lower secondary education :s that's just from grade 1-8 so what diploma or degree do i write...secondly in the mark sheet form it asks for marks i have done O and A levels so we receive grades so what should i put in we do receive percentages for individual exams so should i basically just calculate an average of those percentages and put it in, in the field of specialization in the past which is number 6 on the application form do i write the name of my subjects or an over all explanation of my degree ? there is a similar question on the study program form where it says write down your present field of study ?/?

@msf: I didn't write anything for the diploma for elementary and lower secondary education because we don't have that in my country. Maybe you're in the same situation.
For the mark sheet form, put all your marks of your individual exams and the final mean.
For the field of specialization, write an overall explanation of your degree and speak about your major subjects to be more precise. Put the same things in the "field of study and study program form".
In the "field of study and study program form", clearly explain your research theme (number 2) and then, detail what you plan to do (which techniques you will use for instance) (number 3).

@Julie29 you are right i think they do test how much research and effort a candidate puts in...like for the study they havnt given much clear instructions and not many people realize that you have to right a proper research proposal atleast thats what i was told by the professors that i contacted in japan..they told me to choose a specific narrow research theme and then give a literature review on it and and explain the methodology :S that is why most of my time has been taken up by the study program and i just got to filling the rest of the forms in the last two three days left. anyways thankx for ur help goodluck with the exams!! lets hope we all make it!

Well, I'm back.
It was scary as hell. My hands were shaking for about 10 minutes after I walked out and my heart went crazy. Never in my life was my English so broken and ****** and crappy and GOD.
They asked me the following: (in case anyone's wondering?)
- Introduce yourself.
- Why Japan?
- What's your biggest motivation?
- Since when are you learning Japanese and where?
- Are you interested in Japanese culture and how did you learn about it?
- How did Japan come to your life in the first place?
- Is Japanese difficult? (The only question in this language, everything else was in English, which made me mad. The only JAPANESE person asked this one.)
There's this little crappy thing about Lithuanian screening. There's an in-between organization which actually has absolutely no purpose and isn't needed in any other country, only here. And because of that, there were like 6 women and 1 man from this organization of which only 3 or 4 maybe knew English and none of them understood Japanese. Which I found meaningless. I still have no idea what was the purpose of them being there. The only people that actually mattered to me where the embassy's representatives, both of whom knew English and Japanese. So in total there were 9 people in the room. I still do not understand what the hell was all of that even though it's been 5 hours since the interview ended.
I really hope you'll all do better than me since I talked in round-about ways and they didn't seem to understand what I was trying to say...
I will get my result by the end of the week.

MS finance means master of science in finance.. m phill is master of phliosophy in finance m litt is master of literature in finace at the end of the day all of them are masters degrees different countries and universities use different names MSC finance is also masters just the courses would have a more quantitative base.. if you are still not convinced i suggest you google it or wait for some one else on the forum to reply..
Mba is what they call a professional masters degree or a professional degree course if you were applying for one you would need to choose option 'iv' but you already have a professional masters degree and now you want to do MS... MS or mphil isnt an advance version of mba, they are both post graduate masters level the difference is that one is an academic degree (ms) and the other is a professional one ( mba) an advanced level than this would be a doctoral program (phd) but im not sure whether one can get into a phd program on the basis of an mba or not. As far as i know you need to have an academic masters degree for pursuing phd..
hope this helps you but please take a second opinion on it and a quicker way would be to google it..and also look into the prerequisites of the university courses you wish to apply for they clearly state what degree you already need to posses in order to apply for a program. goodluck.

I had (and still have) a bad feeling that I did absolutely terribly.
@MohaHamo: The exam was somewhat similar to the 2010 one, with the exception of the Japanese exam, at least for Humanities. I can't say the same for Sciences because I didn't ask anyone.
I'm flying in nine hours' time for my interview tomorrow and I still haven't any idea how to deal with their questions. I guess I'll just wing it, then.

Had my interview today. Three panelists - one Japanese gentleman and two Filipina ladies. One more Japanese fellow came in halfway through the interview and only took notes. Results will be out in a month or so, they say.
As usual, here's how it went:
Introduce yourself, why Japan, why this field of study, how well can you live on your own, what will you do after the scholarship, what preparations have you made and are making right now for the scholarship, what aspects of your culture can you share with the Japanese people during your stay
Special questions regarding my fields of study (Manga, Animation, Illustration):
What's your favourite manga, who's your favourite mangaka, why, do you know any universities in Japan that deal with manga, what values do you intend to impart to your readers in your manga, will you make it your career
Random questions:
Do you have a girlfriend, do you enjoy Japanese food, can you wash your own clothes (LOL)
Tips for those yet to take the interview: BE HONEST. Don't be afraid to speak out your mind. The interviewers are not there to eat you, they're there for you to prove just how much you want to get the scholarship. I noticed nods of approval amongst the panelists when I spoke out my thoughts on the "why Japan and not America" question (I talked to them about the heavy idealism and hero-villain divide in most popular American comics as compared to the large gray area in characterization in manga).
Show them you did your research, show them you know what you're getting into. Fate only rewards those who fight, so fight!

Anyways, I got my recommendation! All that's left is that horrible half a year long wait until MEXT announces its decision.
