same here Mell, waiting for results is too stressful. Lets hope everything will be fine.

ohh, its very sad Mel, I know how bad it feels, I have also went through this 3 times before. Please don't lose your hope, try for other scholarships like JASSO or of Japan Foundation in they are available in your country.

Japanese foundation is out of question here. I am affraid that they didn open th schollarships for our country this year.

And what is JASSO if I may ask?

Oh, that is so sad Mell! I failed last year, didn't even get past document screening..... :( Are you trying out for next year? why dont u try university recommendation for later this year? I think it is allowed....

Yeh I think I will try for the next year.

But really dont know what you mean by university screaning?

MEXT has 3 ways of application,

1. Embassy recommendation, whaT we're talking about in this thread
2. University recommendation, check out the thread within 3 topics from this one, it's basically a different order in the process from Embassy recommendation. I think with them, instead of going to the embassy, they ask around either THEIR university, or the university they want to get into. I am not very informed about this, but if you go to the other thread, you will see
3. Domestic application, those already in Japan

Less people know about the 2 category so it's not as hyped. But it's worth checking out! 👍

what is JASSO if I may ask?

JASSO coordinates various examinations to get admission in Japanese Universities and also provides Scholarships, one such exam is EJU (The Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students), you dont need to go to Japan to give entrance exams you can give it in your country, if they conduct it. JASSO usually conducts it through the Embassy in each country, the EJU exam is held twice a year, and you can select the subjects which you want to take, usually the subjects are Japanese language, Science (includes Physics, Chemistry and Biology - You need to choose any two), Mathematics (Basic and Advance - You need to choose any one), Japan and the world. Out of all these subjects you need to choose two or three subjects. Japanese language is not mandatory, you can take the English exam instead. Please check the JASSO website for details. Good Luck.
