(Maybe) Japanese Painting...

Hello everyone! I have a question about a painting if anyone is interested.. I have a painting that I bought about 7 years ago, and I would like to know who the artist is... However, there's one problem.. I have absolutely no idea how to "translate" it! I don't know anyone that is familiar with any Asian languages or writings either. A friend of mine told me it was Japanese, so I highly apologize if it's not (I also apologize if this isn't the right place to post something of this sort in..). I've been trying to find the artist since the day I purchased it! Below is a link to the signature on the picture. If anyone is interested in seeing the whole painting (3 different framed canvases that make the whole painting), I will post a picture. It's absolutely beautiful. I would say that it is Japanese, yes. But now, trying to identify the artist may be a major project. I'd be interested in seeing the whole work, so please PM me the pictures of that, if you don't mind. MM
