A bath bomb is a big ball of bath salts, about the size of an orange. You drop it in your bath and it fizzes round and dissolves, filling your bath with nice things like colour, fragrance, glitter or flower petals! My favourite one is jasmine scented, it turns the water pale lilac and is full of iridescent glitter that sticks to your skin for days. Everywhere you go you leave a trail of glitter behind you Another jasmine scented one is Youki Hi. That one turns your water orange, has gold glitter, specks of red salt and a whole flower head in the middle. The only problem is, it leaves a bright orange ring around your bath that is impossible to get off.

Well, as long as you enjoy it. The washing of orange ring around the tub doesn't quite appeal to me!

My first 10 pets:

1) Kim - black labrador/alsatian cross. My Dad got her for his 10th birthday - she lived to be 19.5.

2) Bot the goldfish. My sister's goldfish, Bit, cannibalised him

3) Suzie - Californian rabbit. My Mum rescued her from our uncle's smallholding.

4) Sandy - golden cocker spaniel. She was nuts - I still have scars.

5) Erbi and Whiskers - gerbils I got from biology class. They lived 4.5 years.

6) Titan the Russian hamster. When he died someone said he might just be hibernating, so I got my dad to dig him back up and put him on a hot water bottle. He was dead though.

7) Aristotle the Syrian hamster - he went nuts whenever he smelled chocolate.

8) Heracles the Syrian hamster - he liked to climb to the top of his cage and let go, so he would fall all the way to the bottom.

9) Protagoras and Meno - lab mice that my friend rescued from the biology lab at Uni. They liked to fight.

10) Lillith - white mouse with pink eyes. She got mites, but even after we cured them she wouldn't stop biting her skin. She chewed it down to the bone

Since then I have had a black lop-eared rabbit called Mab, a Syrian hamster called Nefertiti who died on Saturday , a dwarf lop rabbit called Taliesin, Iris the rabbit, who you might remember from my avatar, and now I have a Californian rabbit Bran and a baby Syrian hamster, Tyrion. Phew. I love my pets!

Ten things I like about Japan (in no order)...

1) Riding the bullet trains was one of the great thrills of my life. I never got tired of it, and I don't think I ever would.

2) Vending machines everywhere with Aquarius and cheap ciggies.

3) The boisterous izakayas. Oh, how I miss them. Such a great place to relax and hang out with friends.

4) Meals with small samples of unknown foods.

5) Feeling healthy from good food and lots of walking.

6) Comfortable internet cafes with food and drink.

7) Using chopsticks with every meal.

8) Being part of an international community of world travelers.

9) Having lots of money.

10) Drinking beer in public.


Now to kill the warm, squishy vibe, ten things I didn't like about Japan...

1) Not being able to drive.

2) The hospitals suck.

3) Grey, cookie-cutter, uninteresting buildings.

4) Difficulty of getting cash from machines that always seem to be closed.

5) Not able to use a credit card.

6) Trains that stop running really early.

7) Working.

8) Announcements and jingles playing everywhere you go.

9) Flourescent lights everywhere that make everything look dead and constantly give you a headache.

10) Constantly taking off and putting on my shoes.
