Let's play a Shiritori Game - Japanese word game

:)

ぱちんこ pachinko

小猫(こねこ)-- kitten

Don't you just love going in circles? :)

//edit
美しい・うつくしい・beautiful

つぎは「い」です。

時代 {じだい}

Not quite sure about the english translation though. :sorry:

Era comes to my mind first, but as non-native english speaker.... :?

From MOJI:
ナスナセ窶佚」[窶堋カ窶堋セ窶堋「]
n-t, period; epoch; era; (P)

inshou 印象(いんしょう) -- impression
「彼の事、おぼえているかい?」
「いいえ、あまりおぼえていないわ。なんとなく、うっすらとした印象が残っているだけよ。」

次は「う」です。
Next word begins with "u".

芋虫 いもむし caterpillar

Not to be rude, but shinsetsu ends with a tsu, not an u.

通信販売 つうしんはんばい telephone shopping(?)

いけばな・Flower-arranging
Sorry, I don't know the kanji.

次は「な」です。

なまやさしい - simple

Mikawa Ossan: Indeed you are correct. Forgive me if I make mistakes, I'm a beginner and still learning hiragana (plus I"m trying to learn some kanji as well) so it's slow going. If I make more mistakes please do correct me. :)

next word begins with "i".

意識 いしき consciousness, awareness

There is absolutely nothing wrong with making mistakes, friend! :) It's one of the best ways to learn, after all. Don't be afraid to post any questions you might have about the language; there are plenty of people here who would be more than willing to help you out! 👍

すとおぶ - stove

Mikawa Ossan: I'm glad I could find such a nice online community where I can practice speaking/typing in japanese. I feel if I can apply what I'm learning I will better remember it. ^_^

Couldn't agree with you more! 👍

武士 ぶし warrior, samurai

Check out the Inazo Nitobe "Bushido" thread. I'm slowly posting his book on Bushido. It comes with a little debate by other members! Feel free to contribute! :)

渋谷(しぶや)-- Shibuya

Yeah, I tend to use place names.:p

やくしょ - actor, actress

This thing won't give me the proper kanji for this use of the word. It keeps wanting it to be an office of local government. ><

Mikawa Ossan: I shall check that out. :)

next word starts with "sho"

将棋 (しょうぎ)

japanese chess. If you know how to play european chess, I suggest trying this game. :)
