Learning Japanese via msn/e-mail?

Hi all,

I am trying to learn Japanese these days. I'm still very noobish. Anyway i'm only 13 and thats too young for a cursus in my area. And if i need help and something i cant ask anyone I also cant find much sites with lots of vocabulary and grammar on it. so here my question:
Is there someone who wants to learn me Japanese via msn/e-mail?

Well i don't know about that, but you could try "Japanese is Possible". In total there are 32 lessons its detailed, and easy to understand. Can give you a link if you wish.

I believe there are also groups and mailing lists wherein you could get lists of people, who are also looking for people they could practice speaking a different language with. You could try subscribing.

You're welcome, well even if its not helpful its always nice to know its place, you never know when will another one of your mates turn to japanese (thats the main reason my pc is full of stuff i already forgot about years ago )

Hmm you should let your friend know about Sparky's guide, that might contain more advanced stuff. This be the topic. Well i doubt you don't know about it, but better safe than sorry.

the only problem I see with this is a somewhat major one:if two beginners start to practice with each other,they are bound to make some mistakes that each might not catch or they might not know it's a mistake and they won't learn the right way.

I think what chedie meant was that, say, a Japanese native would be helping an English native learn Japanese, and vice versa.

By the way, I'd really be interested in this sort of thing.

Hmm well i would like to join in as well, i happen to have a Teamspeak server, (for how long i dunno) so if you folks are damn serious about it, in case you wish, im sure we could find a time to practise there somehow. Well what might your opinion be?

Tomorrow is fine for me as well, but the thing i meant was a general time, when everyone is able to log on TS. But yes, its fine, lets give it a shot, now the question is, what on earth are we supposed to do? The idea is great, it really is, well guess we'll figure it out. I hope jmwintenn and EvilCowSlayer will both be interested. And hopefully a few more people. Possible we could recruit some folks from the "Learn English" forum as well, you wouldn't mind practising with them would you? We could help each other that way. Yup, i believe this is the way to go.

Well you see the best thing you can do is to learn from a native speaker, and since i believe plenty of japanese people want to learn or practise english, and we want to practise japanese, now if we "have english" and they "have japanese" why not trade it? There'll be enough left of english for us its not like you're knowledge's gonna leak away JimmySeal said in his guide that this is a common practise, so i though: "This is probably the biggest Japan-related site i found, so it should all be possible here." So here am i, trying to make it happen. I can't tell if its possible or not, lets just try, you never know. Besides, isn't it nice to help other people?

You have my support, Derfel. The idea of Teamspeak sounds awesome. As for what times I am free, so long as it would be after school in Eastern Standard Time, any time should be fine.

Well,I changed my world clock at timeanddate.com,and its 8:05pm here,9:05pm for evil cow, 3:05am in budapest.I couldnt find donnie's time zone except that its EUC+1,whatever that means.

Doesn't matter what stage you're at, any opportunity you have to listen and possibly communicate with native speakers will help you greatly.
