Learning Japanese [New in Japan]

Yeah, we sort of figured that out on our own already.

just don't expect that the exam will be very hard for you...
cause you're in japan...
you'll be more than enough on N5 level before december...
all you hear and read there are in japanese anyways...
everything was japanese(lol)
difficulty varies on the environment though

I wouldn't underestimate his ability to fail the test. His indolence shines forth like a beacon through the night.

...
we're getting off topic here...

Mike's analogy of the car is perfect. It does get WAY easier once you build momentum, but you still have to work a bit to keep up progress.

You need to find in yourself the motivation to accomplish this goal. This is a real challenge (perhaps your first real, grown-up challenge) but if you're up to the task you'll succeed in due time, just remember that the onus is on you and no one else. The effort you put in--and how you apply that effort--will determine your success. Fortunately, you are in something of a full immersion experience (aside from your home life, presumably), so you have endless study resources surrounding you. TV, radio, books and magazines, signs, menus, and most importantly, people. You have a wealth of opportunities to use your Japanese, and each time you flex that muscle, it'll get stronger. Good luck.

Yeah first grown up task. I used to play in pc and arcade all day. Dont get me wrong I do like the language, I just dont like to study at the phase I am not used to (now studying at least I dont know, 4-6 hours a day.) I am sure I am going to pass N5 already. N4 basically now.
