I honestly have to say that vocalists are awesome. And not losers like Spears, and Aguilera or however the **** you spell it. Actual vocalists from bands that actually play their own instruments. One of the main reasons the Japanese music scene has sucked me in, is because American style bands and artists.... bore me now, they just "sing" the same things over and over again and get to be so damn repetitive. Hyde and all vocalists in general (including American-ish ones too... I GUESS) are just amazing, and I would find it difficult having to choose a favorite vocalist if such a poll or question was posted/created.
Oh GOD, I ended up RAMBLING! I am sooooooooooooo sorry, I piss off many people doing that.. >_>

Very well said... I agree. There's just nothing in a American music for me anymore... it's been that way for a long time. I turned to UK and Asian music cause I never feel like I'm listening to the same thing continually.

It's very true though! My family is kind of... shunning me now, I guess you could call it, because I rarely listen to English music nowadays, instead, in my computer, or my Discman, you could find German, Japanese and/or Spanish... American style badns and artists are just so blah now it's almost pathetic! Or is it already? The main point is, American bands are making me fall asleep now and they have no variations in their voices like a lot of "foreign" bands and artists.

I really can't understand how someone can dislike music just because of what language it's in...? :? Is it just me, or is that kind of attitude retarded?

They're just jealous we've got better taste in music 
My family doesn't fuss all that much over it... they did at first. They would always say "Do you even know what he's saying?" I would just roll my eyes and say "Yes, actually I do" It's not like they can tell me not to listen even if they wants me too. I'm an adult and can smear that fact in ther face everytime they objects.

Well, I don't live with my family, so it's not a problem...
I think it's just genuine puzzlement in my case
Luckily my family shared my taste in music (even though I didn't get into jrock until a few months ago - long after flying the nest!) 
I just wish my dad was around to share my appreciation of top guitar playing 
- he'd've loved it.
I only understand the lyrics after looking up translations though, and there's no way I've got time to do that for all the songs I have, lol. Apart from that my Japanese isn't good enough to know more than a few words and phrases in songs (if I'm lucky), so if you have the skills, I envy you!

Yea... my mom always tells me like 20 times a day. "You know dressing up like a girl is a sin... it's a sin for you to listen to that music" If them dressing up as girls is bad then I'll never tell her what the lyrics mean I just come back with "So if a man dresses up as a woman for Halloween is he condemned to hell as well." I think she doens't quite grasp that they are only costumes... can't be bothered with it. She can do nothing about it after all.

Why yes she does... she even thinks it's weird that men wore kimonos in olden days... what? it's a cultural thing.

Dudes, there's this one chick at my school - TOTAL ***** - and she dislikes Dir en grey JUST because they're Japanese, and is breathing down another girls back just because she overhears my CDs when I'm playing them and she says that they sound good. I actually do research and sample artists/bands before I say, "I hate them" or "I like them" or something of the same effect. She is just so damn DENSE it's not even funny. She puts down everything that's in another language, but french is understandable... heh heh heh...
