shirane and wakkane is used in tokyo. where ever theres an 'i' on the end it gets changed to an 'e' ive seen

Aussie slang is shortening of everything which ive only just noticed when a japanese teacher pointed it out. Her fav is Ambulance is shortened to Ambo. Anything like that in your countries?

I can't find where I originally read it, but "oi" and "ai" in standard Japanese go to "ee" in more colloquial and impolite speech. So you can take any word that ends in them and pronounce that part "ee."

E.g. "katenai" -> "katenee"
"urusai" -> "urusee"
"chigai" -> "chigee" etc.

Hmm, abbreviations commonly used in the U.S.... I can't really think of any outside of the ones that have already become words (like "flu" for "influenza," "memo" for "memorandum," "SCUBA" for "self-contained underwater breathing apparatus," etc.). The only thing about those is that they are universal in English-speaking countries as far as I know. I'm going to have to think about this one...

I've already introduced ひっかけばし as a 'slang of the day'. However I have now tracked down what it means.

I will vote +rep* on the first person to state
a) What physical object it refers to.
and
b) Why it is known as that.

Bonus street cred if you can do this without using a dictionary or a search engine.

* N.B. I don't think I can vote twice for the same person.

i gave me this "If it scratches, to do"
i presume it means "if it itches, scratch it"
There's only one things that itches the most on the male part of the anatomy. I don't think I need any more explanation

I know what you mean about the aussie slang.... sometimes Americans don't even know what I mean
for example "the afternoon" is the "arvo"
There's heaps more, but I cant remember them of the top of my head.

well hashi is bridge, chopsticks, or the edge of something. I'm going to assume it's chopsticks and that it is a description of a certain part of the male anatomy. Perhaps making light of thinness? No clue, just a total guess.

Maybe under another company name since people would associate Gulico with caramel.

According to this インターネットカフェの情報投稿掲示板 it's the bridge in Osaka near the Glico sign. That would put it next to this spot:

As to why it's called that. Ummmm because that's its name perhaps?

Or maybe it's a big nanpa spot??

well, I'm not so sure about how you read that, or the exact definition for that combination.... but here are some meanings of the kanji by themselves...

被 - incur, shelter, cover/veil, brood over, wear/put on
虜 - barbarian, captive
人 - person

my best guess on the reading would be "biryojin"... I have no idea what it would mean
