Anyone here know any good Japanese metal? I already know of Blood Stain Child and am a huge fan of there's. Does anyone know of Princess Ghibli? If you don't they are a multitude of bands that share members to create metal covers of anime songs (In Japanese). Some of the songs are good but not all. BSC is involved but the best ones are when they and an Italian band DisarmonIa Mundi (Or their side project the stranded) Have guest vocalists from the other. If you're just generally looking for good metal I would recommend The Unguided to everyone. They are Swedish but are the best band I've ever heard.
 
Galneryus, maybe? It's a Japanese power metal band. Well, I'm not really a big metal fan, so I don't think I have enough knowledge to compare them with many other bands, but I'd say this band is pretty good. I haven't heard all of their songs, but all their songs I've heard (about 20-30 songs, maybe) are good to my ears.

Was that referring to Galneryus? I didn't know that they scream :eek: Or maybe I have a wrong definition of 'screaming' that I don't realize they're screaming when I'm listening :p

Everyone complains they can't understand screaming and that it's talentless and ugly. Well true its not always easy to understand til you get used to it, but one can understand. I just hate all the stereotypes about metal and its fans. I'm no goth emo punk and I LOVE metal.

I think you mean screaming, and you're exactly what I'm talking about: a guy who labels anything with a scream as metal and evil when the reality is a lot of mainstream music is evil in comparison.
 
Abingdon Boys School is good. X Japan is great. You should search them.

Mainstream rap is evil. Hope it's not popular in Japan. If it is I'll be assured that there is no hope for mankind, and move to the only place where there isn't rap, North Korea.
 
I have heard some good use of rap from time to time. It's when the message is hateful or arrogant that I despise it.

"Throat" is an actual musical term for a low pitch gravely type of vocal. It is usually contrasted by a higher pitched, femanine type of male vocal in Japanese music. Syu from Galneryus does it from time to time, but it's never relied on for the majority of a song.

I wish Abingdon Boys School would do more. I love that band. It seems like Takanori wants to do his TMR again.
