For me, the only good thing about my country is that here u can marry anyone without creating bad reactions with nor family nor friends or whatever.
White can marry brown, brown can marry white, yellow can marry black, white can marry yellow, and so on...

We are all humans. I think many Americans are obsessed by race. After every election there is a statistical breakdown of how "Blacks, Hispanics, Causcasians, Latinos voted.. blah blah blah". As if each of these groups is homogenous anyway. If you've read any decent history textbook you will understand that the history of humans has been marked by massive migrations, tribes moving here or there, immigration and change. We're all cocktails, mixtures anyway: you might have only 2 parents and 4 grandparents, but if you go back say 8 generations, you'll see that 256 people have contributed to your genetic make-up, so really the number depends on how far you want to go back.

i can say from first hand experience Troyka, this is not true at all.
im caucasian, and japanese girls are usually friendlier and more approuchable than most, especialy if you know a little bit of nijon-go
my last girlfriend was japanese, and to my understanding, the trend towards dating caucasian men, or european men, has been on a steady incline over the last deccade. they think we are very attractive. same can be said for african americans these days, a trend that has been much more recent than any, but tamami told me that a lot of japanese girls prefer caucasian men, because of our non-chouvenist attitudes and good looks! and, well, were tall.
well, I'm Australian and I've been dating a Japanese guy for for nearly two years. So i think I can say it works pretty well. I have noticed it's mainly the other way round, Japanese girls with white guys, I know a few couples like that. I'm happy to talk about this topic any time!
I'm still having a nice experience! With my beautiful Japanese bf in Italy! I can enjoy japan and italy at the same time, it's wonderful. I've met some really, really lovely Italians! I was so lucky I met the most kind couple completely by chance, and now we're really great friends, I'm going to spend Christmas with them. But as for the guys, they're a bit too mmm....confidant looking maybe. I like quiet more. And I'm v happy, so I don't need to look.

Maybe...the facts as I know them seem to agree
A lot of the comments here I see that resemble generalizations. A generaliztion is usually based in fact, but is not "general" enough to apply to even most situations, let alone all.
I have seen hundreds of East-West marraiges, and thousands of less formal relationships involving US Marines and Japanese nationals. Many were successful with any level of success that one wishes to apply. I have seen career Marines who have maintained Japanese families on Okinawa , and also families in CONUS, shuttling from the US mainland to WestPac duty stations every three years--we humorously called it "checking on your Japanese dependants" when we discussed it at all. In many cases, these relationships-of-convenience were happy and fruitful on both sides of the Pacific.
Of course, there were some that were harmful. Nothing is perfect. But all participants entered into this gamble with their eyes open.
Because of heavy cultural differences, Caucasian females who hooked up with Japanese males had a more difficult and less successful time of it, as near as I know. I would be interested to know if anyone has an opinion on that. both if they agree and why.

Hello All: I'm new here but not new to this world. (old fart).
I couldn't help taking note when people on this thread spoke of being attracted to the look of someone who was racially different and how that would not be a good basis for a relationship. And they would be right.

But what one might find, as they get to know a japanese woman is that they have certain cultural characteristics which would have more likely been ingrained in them (IE: peer pressure to conform in behaviour is stronger in Japan than US).
I am dating a japanese/american woman here in the US. She is a US citizen by birth, her parents are first generation here and still speak japanese. My girl is completely integrated into american life but she still carries some of the japanese expectations of gender behaviour of the "old country". She is "americanized" and has dated japanese men but doesn't like them. She doesn't like them because she doesn't like to be treated as less than equal and that was her experience with japanese men. she wants to be treated as an equal and she wants to keep her career. I have read some other sources on the net that support the things she is saying. Younger, (non traditional) japanese woman want what US women have: equality.
She likes euro/american men since they treat her with the respect she wants and deserves (she earns that respect). We have lots of things in common in that we have the same attitudes about things in life. Surprising eh?
(common attitudes about spending money, about going to art shows, museums, concerts, bike riding etc).
She does not like japanese men because she feels that many of them expect to be "taken care of" and waited on hand and foot. She doesn't like that many of them come home drunk after work. She does not want to be a housewife.
To me: This woman is a special woman, smart, insightful, not needy but independent and secure in herself. this I find quite attractive.
As far as racial looks go: She LOVES the hair on my chest and can't get enough of burying her face in it. (She said it's a japanese female fetish) She likes the stockier build of my body and the blonde hair.
oh, and one more thing:
When the bedroom door is closed she is quite submissive but yet very animated. -blush
such a treasure.

As per my experience there is a problem in interiacial relations and when you get married and have children.....is her family os too far so cannot help the new family
in particular situations such to assist when she has a baby or to assist the baby
if one evenign we wish to go to see a film ina cinema or have a dinner with friends...this can be a little problem if you are reach can fly many time in Japan
in a year...or her parents here (Italy)...or pay a babysitter....but as I am not reach

But not having the parents/inlaws around is not an issue with me. We are both in our late 40's and I hope to hell that we don't have kids !! LOL !!!
But I do differ with you in your assessment of her being 100% american. She has some of her "old country" ways that she has learned from her parents. <g> Those things do not disappear in just one or two generations.

it is now common to have children for over 40 year women...in Romania a womans had few days ago twins at 67.
I thought that here with so many races it would not be a problem to have an oriental wife. Here is not a problem more problems with muslims as they are very close and generally we do not have many relations as friends.
