happygaijin said:Doesnt really matter as long as they both are comfortable with it. Contrary to popular notion that japanese girls are crazy about white guys (and vice versa), I have also come across many japanese girls who don't really care whether their date is a white or black or asian. I would say, relationships with with such girls is more fulfilling and long-lasting because in first 1-2 months each one gets to know each other and that marks end of novelty about their back-ground.
It takes a special kinda japanese woman to not only like but thrive, living in a foreign country, DAMN these women love home sweet home, the thing is, i dont see whats so appealing about a wafer thin poxy little apartment and total lack of public space.

It's true that some people have different personal preferences, e.g. dark skin/pale skin, blonde hair/dark hair, and are more likely to be attracted to people with those characteristics. But, like you mentioned with the guy and the blonde girl, it isn't set in stone!![]()

People from different countries have different expectations of others, and while they are not always diametrically opposed, you both should have an understanding of each other's culture to have a happy and loving relationship.
I do think that race matters when it comes to personal preferences... I think I would be lying if I said it didn't... There are in fact, beautiful women all around the world, but people sometimes like a painting by one artist over the paintings of another... It all has to do with aethetics, and if for example someone's look is exciting and different to you, then this can make the relationship even more special because you come to love someone and their differences, and you notice the things like the bridge of their nose, or their ears, or their hair that you might have never paid attention to otherwise... it can definitely make your relationship very special.
