Japanese garden find

Yes, I always found the difference between English gardens and French gardens and all that they entail for the cultures they came out of interesting. But I never really liked French gardens all that much. Man enforcing his law on nature so blatantly is just a little over the top. It has to be done subtly.

Japan mixes it very nicely. Or should I say they do it so you don't notice.
Wires, ropes, braces and what not ... yet ... the finished product looks so natural. Definitelyt something that the Japanese definitely have mastered and excell at!

The Japanese also excell at moving trees too. Well, at least trees that are the height of full grown fruit trees. It's just amazing to see them up root a tree, drag it across town and plop in the ground some where else. Amazing!

I hope that the quality remains. You don't see many moving into such a business these days.

To-day I was out shopping in a new store (Homebase). It has a beautiful range of plants etc., as I noticed air-plants(which I have never heard of before) I suggested to my hubby to look for the most beautiful plant of all "Bonsai" as we walked for 20 mins I was so disheartened that I had not found one. To my surprise and excitement, we found one, it's not in brilliant condition, but it will be!!!
this is the pic that came with it, and as soon as I get my camera working I will place a pic of what it really looks like, but my Dad always said that I had green fingers so here is goes,

I am into bonsai but haven't had or trained any trees in a few years. There are several good books out there also. The trees are kept small by years of root pruning and branch trimming and wiring to train. Check the link I posted and you should find all you need to know.

Very nice. I only wish I had a knack for such things. Don't suppose you have any Koi in that pond do you? I've always found that particular aspect to be very therapeutic and relaxing.

I'm afraid I have daily visits from the dreaded heron which dissipates my fish stocks radidly. So NO expensive koi
