Well, the High court in Paris (That's the french for you...) has decided yesterday that they have nothing against sending Cesare BATTISTI back to Italy. Is'nt that excellent news ? Hope now that they will keep him !

faceva caldo umido.....le ragazze jp avevano dei piccoli asciugamani
per il sudore ed io scherzando alle mie amiche le chiamavo Rocky e loro ridevano molto per questo scherzo.
Ho mangiato in un ristorante in Ginza...e sono stato bene in Giappone
amo il Giappone...quando ero ichi dan avrei pagato qualsiasi cosa per allenarmi in una palestra dojo giapponese ma non potevo....

thanks for your compliments, I love Italy & I go there often ( I went to see Aida in Verone too) but my love goes to Venezia.
Fortunately I had a opportunity to eat Chinese family food, because I have been staying in the same boarding house with some Chinese people. The meal was very nice, but at the same time I felt like I was at my home, I mean the meal was so similar to Japanese family food that I eat in Japan.
I think it's because of various kind of Japanese family food.
What I ate was steamed rice in a bowl, many kinds of fried vegetables and some meat and dumplings made of flour which was filled with meat and they were in some soup.For dessert, we had Chinese Manju. Ohhhh, it was so yum
I also found Chinese chop sticks interesting, they were really long and thick compared to Japanese ones and expensive ones have some chinese letters on their bodies.
I think Chinese people have lots of dishes on the same table so that's why Chinese chop sticks are so long because you can take dish which is far from you easily.
This is right, there are lot of similarities between Japanese, Korean and Chinese food.
The basic of it all comes from China, in the beginning. Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and many other countries owe to "the big brother" (China) quiet a lot of its cultural habits and today's way of life.
This is due to proximity of these countries and the fact that there has been, in the past, through the ages and many times, some kind of "mutual" invasions and they were not all "touristics".
So, the day you "discover" (north) vietnamese and/or korean cooking, dont be surprised to find that it is something that you have allready seen somewhere else.

I'm always laughing my head off when I see non-used-to persons trying to use them ( I know, I'm really bad...), but it's something that make me laugh, specially when the sweet & sour prawn flies into the air to end up on the neighbor's lap (or anywhere for that matter).
I was lucky I had a good teacher for the chopsticks. It only took observing my husband once to get it down. I had tried it many times before and failed. In fact, I can use them better than my best friend. She holds them so that they make an 'X'. You native chopstick users probably know what I'm talking about? She is 25 years old and still holding them like that. I don't see how she picks up anything holding them like that.
By the way, Japanese have those chopsticks for men and women. The men's chopsticks are black and the women's are red. I hate the red ones. They are way too small. I much prefer the black ones or regular Chinese bamboo ones or even cooking ones! I like using them while cooking. I hardly ever use anything other than chopsticks to cook with now.

dont worry, I've a pair of those metal ones (silver in fact) and joined together by a silver chain too . It's not korean but chinese, and slippery noodles are international. nothing new in Korea so far...
those in metal are very difficolt for me to use....i prefer wood ones...

No, they are not, it's just a question of 5 minute's practice then it's ok.
Yes I love Venezia for it's food & wine. And not only for pasta, but I've eaten some of the best "non-pasta" food in Italy (together with Toscana), in restaurants that tourists will never find. Great experience. And the wines are great... and the grappa, too !

Metal chopsticks also have a much higher durability. Wooden chopsticks probably don't last that long.

well Lina, no, spoon is not for handicapped or something, it does help greatly some that are not "fluent" with spaghetti, that is all. I have seen people actually usin a knife to cut spaghetti to a size of 3-4 centimeters. They could have ordered macaroni...

About fiorentina a large steak about 5 or 6 cm toll and cooked outside
but not so much inside....it comes from the Maremma cows
it is expensive but is for 2 or 3 persons...if good quality and good restaurant...you can cut like the butter....normally with potatoes and vegetable with fiorentina you should drink a good Chianti red wine
or a Brunello di Montalcino. In agriturismo in Toscana is possible to eat
very good food and drink first quality natural wine.

Spaghetti should be eaten with fork alon, of course, I don't even understand why waiters would distribute spoons...
