Japan scrambles jets against Chinese plane | SBS News

The Chinese government will be provoking Japan more and more over the next few years - an economic crash is just waiting to happen there and the Communist party will pick the easiest target (i.e. Japan) to try to divert the anger and rising unrest of the citizens.

My biggest fear is that the gung ho attitude of Abe will tempt the Chinese to take it a step further and actually escalate it up a notch if the political climate at home turns a bit too hot.
 
The people in Okinawa get really tense over this stuff. I knew some Coast Guard guys there back when the dispute over the fishing boats happened.

I understand why they get tense, but I'm sure China realises that there is a sort of mutual economic destruction if it plunges Asia into a war. Japan is one of its big trade partners, and the whole world (except the Kims) will side with Japan if China starts something. China flexes its muscles a lot, but it's hard to imagine it's stupid enough to use it.
 
I hope you're right about that. It's difficult to imagine them being so stupid, but if there is an uprising (when their banks default and the huge state owned industries start laying off the 'Jobs for life' masses) it will be one of their trump cards to divert attention.

On the subject of crazy communists ... do you get nervous about the rockets fired from North Korea?
I know the rockets themselves are not going to cause much damage but the potential for them being improved to carry nukes is a real danger.
 
Technically, it's a danger, but it's a total suicide mission, so I don't worry on that level. The head of state in North Korea can't really believe what they sell. The current Kim went to school in Switzerland. I'm sure he enjoys his life of luxury, as his people starve around him. Why would he jeopardise that? Even if he wanted to commit suicide, a lot of people would want to stop him first.

So it's a worry, but it hasn't made me move back to Canada.

(By that I mean, most members here are human beings, and seem to have lives, but political right wingers, ie. Caster, seems to have nothing going on in his life that doesn't revolve around Japanese nationalism. A totally ignorable person.)
 
I hope the next headline reads "Abe and Parliament slaughtered in Chinese fire-bombing" Yes, I just said I hope that the PM of Japan dies, along with the rest of this **** corrupt government.

as for internet world, most of them are telling a honne. never in real world
one thing I can tell you no one would tell you the honest thing..
I think I welcome many foreigners. However, since I am also human being , there is also a disagreeable foreigner for me.

Back in the 70's it was the Russians.

When I was stationed in Japan tracking Russian nuke subs and Russian nuke bombers at our direction finding base near Fukuoka , about once or twice a month every month 3 Russian bombers would take off and head for Japan. For the two years I was there , it happened like clock work. Every time , as soon as the hit the edge of Japanese air space , they turned around and headed back to Russia. One day the pilots must have been asleep at the controls because the continued over Japan. Our military panicked and called a high alert , but the planes finally turned around and nothing happened. I remember being amazed that nothing was reported about it by Japanese news at the time. It sure scared the heck out of me for the change in routine.

Uncle Frank, I heard something similar happen at the Distant Early Warning line. I guess it was the beginnng of the 1980's...

Yes , Navy for 4 years of land duty , never saw a ship. It was an interesting spy base there in Fukuoka called Hakata Air base. Although it was run by the Air Force the service people working there were divided into 5 parts, Army , Marines , Air Force ,Navy and also Canadian military. Most were stationed there for 2 years. It was an old WWII Japanese sea plane base and there was a prisoner of war camp near there also. From what I hear now , it is a resort area/amusement park. Back then , despite hundreds of antennas , our cover story was the base was a giant carpentry shop that built wooden items for the military , LOL.

I remember a place that was simply ridiculous in Italy: near Milan there was an ammo depot right in the middle of vast rice fields (not uncommon in that part of the Po valley) and the above ground section was covered in tree vegetation.
Immagine enemy bombers seeing that neet spot in the middle of nowhere.

Anyway I had a Navy friend who was stationed in Japan. All the Americans I knew seem to love that country.

The planes were in international air space. The Japanese government need to stop proviking country, especially a regional power.

You did state in another thread that you didn't like the Scandinavians .... I didn't realise however that the Chinese were so 'proviking'.

I can see why you are so worried about this now. If the Viking countries of Scandinavia join China, Japan is in big touble.

Keep in mind, he is Chinese, and in the case of China vs any other country, China is the party in the right.
 
Japan should also give Ryukyu islands back to China that they illegally annexed.

If they have a referendum in Okinawa, I bet 99% of them wants to be part of China.

Come to Japan and see what people think about your referendum. Meanwhile, I suggest you get out more often and catch some fresh air.
 
I can genuinely say, not only are the people of Okinawa generally happy to be part of Japan, they are more than a little terrified of China and its bluster over the Senkaku Islands issues.
 
Diaoyu islands are empty, no your argument is invalid. Plus China is very diplomatic and restraint about the whole dispute, it is Japan that is the aggressor here with it's joint military exercises with America in the region.
