What the heck are you talking about? Who cares if the island is uninhabited? That doesn't change the way Okinawans feel. You have never been there, so you are just making excuses to put China on top.
Also, about five years back, Chinese fishing boats went into Japanese waters, caused a diplomatic shitstorm, and then were hailed as heroes when they went back home. China can take some responsibility for that.
The bottom line is: Okinawans are happy as part of Japan and are afraid of China. Time and again, I would talk about the U.S. bases, and nobody liked them, but they felt it was the best defense against China. China is scary. Japan can not be an aggressor for being on territory that they legally own.
Go to Okinawa , educate yourself about daily life there, then you can tell me my argument is invalid. You'll still be wrong, but at least you won't look like someone who has zero idea what they're talking about.
