According to the JMA, Japan experienced its warmest spring this year, as greenhouse gasses and El Nino send temperatures soaring worldwide.

Temperatures across March, April and May were 1.59 degrees Celsius (34.9 Fahrenheit) higher than average, the Japan Meteorological Agency said. That made it the hottest spring since the agency started taking comparable measurements in 1898. "Global warming has made such record-level temperatures more frequent, and they are expected to become even more common in the future as global warming progresses," it said. Average sea-surface temperatures for waters around Japan in the same months were tied for the third-highest recorded since 1982, the agency added. The United Nations said last month it was near-certain that 2023-2027 would be the warmest five-year period ever recorded.

Meanwhile, Japan is preparing for Tropical Storm Mawar, which has already brought torrential rains to Okinawa and Shikoku . Mawar, officially Typhoon No. 2 in Japan, is an unusually early typhoon which will cause two days of continuous rain even here in the Kanto region.

Looks like a lot, but very few have really understand the grave dangers of global warming.

Taking a risk to upset some, even being a tech person, I would say that another grave danger is AI (I would not go into any arguments about that
even if provoked )

A little update on Typhoon No. 2: after two days of sometimes torrential rains and an ear-piercing スマホ landslide alert around 3 a.m., we're finally back to sunshine and blue skies.

However, Mawar also left a trail of destruction:

At least one person was killed, and 30 others injured as powerful Typhoon No. 2 brought record-breaking rainfall to eastern Japan through 3 June. A man in Aichi Prefecture who became trapped in his submerged car was eventually pulled out, but it was too late by then. A search was also underway for two residents missing in Wakayama Prefecture. Thirty people from as far south as Okinawa Prefecture to Kanagawa Prefecture, just west of Tokyo, had suffered assorted injuries as of 10 a.m. on 3 June, the Fire and Disaster Management Agency said. It said the typhoon also damaged 178 homes in central Japan.

It stopped raining here around 11 a.m. (with unprecedented downpours until about 3 a.m.). I was on my bike around noon, trying to compensate for two days of inactivity.
