I think it all comes down to this.....We should all look for the best in people and not EVER judge by groups consisting of more than 1 person! Go to the sources for information. I found out from an "orthodox Muslim" who is completely non political-a "mystic" that if the Jews were to lose Isreal to the Muslims, that they will live under a Caliphate and not be touched, and that they would be citizens. This isn't a joke. I came by this page and really had to find out my own answers and I just well, went to an actual person. We could conclude that there are good muslims, jew, Christians yada yada yada and there are also the BAD for EVERY group. As for Atheist, yes, agnostics too there are also the good bad and ugly for them as well!!! Logically, it doesn't make sense to judge a theory or philosophy solely from a few. If we were to have this kind of judgement then Atheism killed the most with pol pot, mao, lenin, stalin and religion hating Hitler. So are all the athiest on the board like them? or have an innner hidden secret within waiting to pounce on ever hairy tom with a dick? nope. Why? we don't think like that. "Let it be".

I think people are afraid to learn Islam from someone face to face. When I surf for it on the net I get so confused and I spend my life researching. If I wanted to hate anyone muslim, jew, communist anything, I'll be sure to find enough fire power for it over the net. But, if I went looking for a sincere one from any of the above I probably wouldn't be able to even hate them if I tried.

I even found out that the orthodox muslims were not happy with the breaking of Buddha statues in Afganistan. When I asked why, the reply was that they think it was the citadel of Buddhism at one point and that the people who leant from the Prophet of Islam didn't break the statues, so who would have more knowledge of the religion muslims today or yesterday? Orthodox Muslims believe what history taught them.

I just want to preach open mindedness and along with that: RESEARCH!

This is my first post here..its true that there many peaplo in the world dont know a thing about islam..neither do they know what political and social aim of that of islam.. i will explain islam in terms of an atheist point of view..

if you want to know islam from an ideal atheist point of view not from a orthordox point of view..... the essence of islam is equity and justice.. it potrays life as a constant struggle to survive and for a just society wherby All-agh(All=everything") as it core prime mover....it fusses with every individual life form..in islam everything and everybody is important and connected..the poor must be protected..even the useless and sick or weak..the strong plays a role of a protector or vanguard... the wealthy must protect and raze the status of the poor.. other the society will crumble to communism or socialism...where the peaplo who live in unfairness will give up on god..islam is not communism...its capitalism avoiding the path to communism..its a from of a modified capitalist idea..for example..china..a communist country modified with capitalism with its own style and philosophy...in islam obtaining wealth is compulsory without disregard for the poor..it protects the poor from the wealthy and the weatlhy from the poor...

islam is the only religion with worldly judicial component called the shariah laws(man deals with man) not only devine law where god deal with man...in Allahs judgement..no human can judge a another human in his position..but you can judge a man as a man...for Allah..hes reason are unfamthomable...

Jihad..its not a holy war..its means struggle...we all struggle..in our daily lives to get what we want.. and what we need...strive from poverty and famine...it protects the purity of life..from abuse, oppression,prejudice,corruption,and greed...

as you may find..islam can be very strict towards women..but women plays a role very important to the whole world..and thats the cradle of civilization..protecting them from exploitation,adulteration is the center issue of islam..marriage is ia commitment to protect society..family is the prime basis of a pyscological growth of an invidial which makes up the society...preserving the sanctity and modesty of girls and women...such as modesty,feminity and virginity is enormously important...to preserve and protect the purity of society..basic moral issues are the fundementals of islam...

Allagh has never forbidden man from the quest of universal knowldege..science is mans search for knowledge of the material universe..allagh has given man the brain to seek knowledge of this material universe,islam is a form of philosophy whereby man's attempt to associate himself and his society.. it concerns his existence physically and pyscologically vis-a-vis the peaplo around him and the things around him..science is the kingdom of mans..whereby Allagh is mans relation to himself..

allagh is the beginning of civilized men and the end of primitive man...in order for man to first launch and free himself from primitive man..he must have a starting point...first he must consolidate himself.. and islam its basic teachings and quran to provide him with laws and ethics and morality in order for him to obtain a lauching pad...by consolidating himself..only then he can propel himself for the quest for knowlege..then can he find wealth..and use it to progress for further knowledge...which goes on and on and continues until he fully understand All(everything,all)-agh and allagh is everything...

to understand islam..one must also know the culture of the Arabs..and islam originally derived from the culture of arabs and so like other religions derived from their own culture aswell..

islam is somewhat the extention of many religions so is such many religion today such as bhuddism extended from hinduism and christianity from judaism and etc...researchers on religion today is searching how far does the extention of the religion derived from its origin..all religion share similarities.. some of the religion devide and assimilate into different cultures from conquest or migration...

religion is a complex thing and its too long to explain A-Z..so i will explain a few..i suggest reading a book called "History of God" by a christian nun her name "Karen Armstrong".. she is very famous..i have read a little of her work..but my friend has read most of it...she have written seperate books about the topic of "islam" and "bhuddism" alone...her books explains history of the old world and empirialist world..and why does religion and islam today why it has become that way...
she said that muhammad was the most interesting prophet which she befound upon..go read it yourself..

as you know what interest in knowing islam today by most peaplo today is because of politics...the brutal violence of freedom fighters which the super powers label them as terrorist to make an organization easier to wipe them out.. just like mendella and etc...

many peaplo question of the acts of the terrorist...why the violence.. well why not ask them..it seems the US intelligence has silenced them.. i have searched all the terrorist websites and a label showing "this site is now owned by USA, homeland security".. in attempts to wipe out what they called terrorist propaganda...

well its obvious why the japanese hostage killings...you are the invader of the country..you sided with their enemy USA..to kill thousands of iraqis..and USA the supported and ally of izrael who is a country who commits act of attrocities to women and children...

ask yourself..why is japan there..its pretty obvious all the buisness contracts and companies are being taken over by foreign companies..the wealth of their country is going to foreigners..and palaces are going to americans to become embasies...abu ghraib..unseen scenes like abu ghraib..and reports of rapes of iraqis by american soldiers...

its not suprised to some of you japanese experience the same thing in okinawa by american soldiers raping school girls...disrespecting mosques and the recent american massacre...

why do iraqis have to owe debts to america who say they have come to help them when iraqis dont ask to... america the supporter of izrael...iraqis who have to pay for their blood and their oil...why should i be in the debt of a criminal when i dont ask to...

the japanese,australia(CARE),USA and etc..deploy peaplo to help iraqis,its hypocrisy to help somebody but you kill them at the same time... you who destroyed the infrastructure..who made the place without water,electricity and food...come to give aid while publicizing the acts in pictures looks as if it were to be propaganda..and propaganda is more dangerous than the bombs.. they will be forced to kill them hostages...because they are now enemy aiding the military...and they are now not civilians...civilians are peaplo not involve with the military..

as you may know..there are no more samurais in japan anymore...but middle east is like a "land of unying samurais"...they become mercenaries because of many wars during imperialist and modern times...they wear a scarf and cover their faces..like in a long time ago...their warriors dress up the same.. their tactic is similiar to the assasins...whom the word assasin derived from the arab word hashashish..where they take drugs and fight empires using terrorism like assasinating political figures...to achive their goal...

ofcourse assasins or terrorism cannot conquer a country...why should the world fear terrorism when it is actually useless...but the US potrays it as most dangerous and can hit you even in the toilet...its absurd..terrorism or assasinations have limited resources..and only hit targets that is the most damaging..like pentagon,white house,WTC,embasies or military target to save their resources.. no terrorist acts will be commited without a messege why they do it.. and that messege is usually wiped out by the super power or potrayed as propaganda.. so its up to analysis and you too to desyfer the messege..

many of this terrorist are extreme at their religion..and when they want to protect their culture..they must act on the religion derived from that culture...

to become ultimate warriors..one must not fear death and be pushed to the extreme like tranz..its a matter of state for battle..all religion have this.. its their way of battle..just like romans say when they go to battle "today we will join the gods" and as for muslim "allahu akbar" means "god is great".. this is to prepare morale and state of mind for battle...

thats why when you see the news..the terrorist or muslim freedom fighters or rebels will fight even though they know they are going to die...they walk through bullets and challange the super power enemy america... even though they are a 100 versus a 100000...they will charge at it and die...

you cant fight the enemy if youre affraid...and a super power..anyone can be affraid...all warriors have their own way to prepare their state of mind for death.. samurais,teutonic knights,hashashish,shaolin monksm,kamikazee,and etc...its not wrong..

why do the terrorist behead..all warriors behead..even samurais behead.. the queen of england sometimes say behead..ever heard "off with his/her head"..and their culture seem to be barbaric...its actually an honor killing...well its their culture..even japanese culture in history is quite violent and barbaric... manga and animes sometimes potray a lot of violence and blood...

Salam-Shalom, my observed afore all these mind_states posted here to and visited also those links, thanks 2all brothers and open minded participants.

My japanese friends confirmed me a more closer point of state, from their point of view, to islamic-world rather than western-world and we have agreed in facts of our common understanding regarding existense of a strong connection between japanese people and muslim people and japanese spirit ans Islam spirit,very few days ago in very close mind exchanges.. Iwas more impressed than anyone can imagine here and now,except Him giving all this 2me!
Japan and its people are truly different than all the others I have ever met over this globe- and honestly to say my understanding of peace and harmony, so ISLAM I have truly felt and met for a first time in JAPAN and among its sophisticated people as a kind of self proved&experienced- OK 2 bring it back, yeah- Islam the beacon of light in Japan. my as a muslim, my japanese friends as non-muslims, we share together a lots of good things connecting us for ever.

if youre talking about the muslims in japan...well they are not many.. most of them are turkish,khazakhs,uberkz and etc living in their small societies in japan, most of em there are migrators nearby during world war 2... there are estimate a few i think about 3000 who actually japanese who are seperated all across japan...that very little..in a crowded country...islam is just begining to pick up in japan wheres other religions has confronted there for hundreds of years before..not to mention shimabara..many religious procecutions have taken place in japan including bhuddist and christians for instance...but not muslims... japan didint ever seemed to ever even seen or know what a muslim is...since the portugese conquerors blockade the muslim traders and migrates from reaching japan..the only way japan actually discovered about muslims is when they conquered china...

it is said bhuddist and shintos make up 95% of the population of japan whereby 0.7 percent are christians and 0.02 percent are muslims but only 3000 of them are actually japanese from the 0.02 percent....that little but who knows if given another 100 years...

well ive already explained all about islam's fundelmentals...i dont have anymore to sat...

My friend Taujadeen, from Nigeria, lives here in California. Although our political situation is not exactly stable, we're not on the brink of civil war. He also lives with a better than average standard of livin and in a stable economy.

I haven't travelled much, but doesn't your description- of only wealthy, well fed people being able to seek answers in the world with Allah- exclude about 90% of the worlds Arab and Indonesian populations? Isn't Islam the "refuge of the poor?" How does this work?

well i got to know christianity..watching TV seeing as how this guys advertise their religion..i hope muslims do the same..making it more entertaining..like movies or somethin..now theyre doing it like the new animation movie "Muhammad"..you should watch it...succesful religions today advertise their religion and culture..seeing how the japanese did it..like animes..showing their samurai and kagakure skills..history..and legends..

about the women policy..in my country..women here are not treated like that.in some muslim countries women are not treated like that too..there are some free women in the societies.. but i dont know how turkey treats its women..to me its okay..

like i said..you have to know arab culture.... infact this is an old extremist upholding.. actually in old ancient days.. many wars are fought because of women..one example is "Helen of Troy" "Cleopetra" and etc... well i dont seem to understand how the westerners view how women should be treated.. but women and girls in western societies until today are being exploited into doing not only pornographies... 13 years old girls today being exploited of their bodies..even 9.. and by just searching through www.google.com ,you can find tons of it... in the philipines and thailand has become a place for sex tourist..and the rest of asia 3rd and 2nd world countries..its not legal in my country..not in muslim contries..

well theres several reasons why islam is such a way..you have to look through the look through it with your intellect..

did you know why alcohol is strictly porhibitted in islam..its political..during long ago.. many tribes and clans had went to war because they were offended because they were drunk..sometimes foreigners sell this drinks so that the nation would fight among each other so it would be easier to be conquered...

one major example is the british colonist..

they sold alcohol which the red indians call fire water..when they get drunk they fight among each other and they become divided..and the colonist easily conquered the land and slughtered and enslave them..ravaging all the women and girls they see....

why does islam forbids touching dog..

actually dogs long ago had some bad diseases and scrabbies..usually arabs live and sleep with dogs getting all kinds of lice and diseases.. so muhammad thought that he should make a law to forbid touching dogs..if you do..then you must "saman" meaning that you must wash your hands with dry sand or muddy sand...and in the desert..theres a lot of sand...but till this days..there are a lot of arabs who still sleep with their dogs...

Religion is a very touchy subject. I don't expect to agree with everyone, but yes we can be friendly. I keep asking questions and exploring to try to find out more and to try to understand. I'm not looking to convert-- I am happy with my relationship with God...but I hate being so ignorant about the beliefs of so many others.

howdy there, can i just tell master X, if you are a muslim then u should know that it is not allowed to bring up such a sensitive subject as religion, among people who are not muslims, and buy what people have written, they suspect you of bragging that islam is the best religion, even though i dont see much evidence of that as i just skimmed through the posts. and for the non muslims out there, please dont insult something you are clearly not well educated it, im not insulting anybody but arent there sayings that say know your enemy? if you believe that islam is based on angry old men wearing turbans bombing people, then u terribly misinformed about islam. islam gets over 2 million converts for a reason. it is against religion to force anyone into islam so they all do it acording to their free will. i am sorry that what you were informed about islam is all wrong, for the americans, the media there tells you every day how american troops are hurt or injured in iraq, but do they ever mention that over 100 hundred thousand iraqi's have been slaughtered, including men women and children who have absaloutly nothing to do with the war. media makes you believe what they want you to believe. thats why i greatly respect the british, the british do not rely on one source of information, the read from several different sources, and do what they can to find the truth, but the americans do not, that is why they voted for bush for the second time. the media strikes fear into the heart of every american. that is why endless americans are so illinformed. dont get me wrong i love americans, they are halarious people, really funny folk and kind and wark hearted, i even have plent of family there, but when it comes to their views on islam and religion and the wordly goings on, they know nothing.
