Question Is Google Translate bad for Japanese?

I dislike the translations when it comes to 四字熟語 as the results are always so literal, for example: 二股膏薬 means either timserver or double dealer but the translation google uttered is nonsense literally translating it without any nuances as: two-pronged ointment which isn't even close. Should anyone rely on GT for Japanese or is DeepL a better alternative?

DeepL is my preferred tool for several years now. Google is usually acceptable but DeepL is almost always better in my experience.
