A good Japanese friend of mine who's a senior and now widowed has been living in the U.S. for over 15 years as a green card holder and would like to live freely between the two countries without visa restrictions mainly due to family being in both countries.
Although she's aware that Japan doesn't officially recognize dual citizenship, she heard about people who have successfully obtained U.S. citizenship after being a green card holder and effectively being a dual citizen of the U.S. and Japan. I'm new to the forum and was wondering where the appropriate place to post this would be so that we might be able to get advice from others who have gone this route.
