My name is Doug actually, I was a member before but lost my information so have started over with a new persona.
My interest in Japan has always been strong, I have Japanese friends in Canada, and I assisted quite a number of Japanese students of English through on-line ESL sessions over the past several years, not technical English so much, but rather pronunciation and common practical language usage.
The students taught me much about Japan and I tried to reciprocate through sharing Canadian culture and history with them.
I was often invited to visit but unfortunately due to chronic health problems I had to decline.
Although "retired" I try to remain active and engaged, assisting where I can. My background is corporate I.T management and my interests are technology and "all things historical" across a broad spectrum.
