How old will people get married in your country?

I know it depends. In some large cities in China, late marriage is becoming a trend, but since I live in the countrside and I'm 29(according to our count way), my situation is a little wired. If its a common phenomenon then I don't need be anxious.

my uncle got married for the second time at 86 years old. That first year as newlyweds, they seemed to be in bed (enjoying each other) every time I visited them. 3 in the afternoon, I'd stop by and he would come to the door in his pajamas and say he was busy. They were happy togeather till he hit 93 and died just 1 day apart from each other; TRUE LOVE the second time around. So, it's never too late for love.

Some of us, once we "wear-in" like an old bearing, just never can refit.

My wife died thirteen years ago. I still sleep on half the bed (but my dogs occupy what ever I do not) and I still think of myself as married. I tried to strike up a relationship with another woman (and one of approximately my age) but every time, if it was not one thing, it was another.

Now, I am disabled and it would be very difficult to establish a new love. So, I watch the world of intimacy swirl around me as a detached observer. I do not smoke, I am not supposed to drink, and the last vice has pretty much lost its interest to me.

Back in the olden days, people used to get married as soon as they got out of school and landed a job, around 20 or 25.
But now, a lot of young people are either putting it off till later, around 30 or 35.
or just don't want to marry at all.
I used to think 40 would be just right, but....
I also hear that young people in Japan also don't want to marry early.
By living in their parents house, they can have more money to buy more, bigger toys! :win:
Childlike or childish seems to be another global trend!
So don't worry if it doesn't bother you.
Or do people bug you into marriage in your neighborhood?

You can get married at 16 in Scotland, too. Marriage is a fading tradition in the UK in general, divorce rates are high.

Here most people get married before 30, at least I never heard anyone was single when s/he is 30 except those divorced. Single or married both has its advantage so I'm not hurry but I'm afraid that it'll be very difficult to find a boy as the same age with me. About ten days ago, I attend my cousin's wedding ceremony, she's two years younger than me, what made me amazing is her husband is three years younger than her!
And I agree with you, in some Chinese bbs, I can feel the childish very very strongly.

It seems, at least in the liberal parts of America, there really isn't all that much pressure to get married these days. There was much more pressure in our parents' generation. Back then, you were a freak it you weren't married by 23, but now it doesn't seem to be that big a deal. The only pressure I get is from my family in the Mid-West (very conservative). I'm almost 28 and most of my friends aren't married. A lot of people get married in their early to mid 30's, if at all. That's about ten years later than the last generation.

I'm in my mid-30's and have never felt any overt pressure to get married, although the stress of not having a man around in any capacity would be tremendous -- to the degree he wasn't looking for a child (in me as well) or children.

Fortunately, my parents never urged me till now. May be I'm still a child in their eyes, may be they're anxious but didn't tell me, may be they think their daughter is the best and deserve someone best. Whatever, I'm glad they didn't give me pressure.

As I mentioned above, my cousin (2 years younger than me) chose me as her bridesmaid although we live far and even are not very familiar with each other, you know why, cause she couldn't find anyone around her who's still unmarried at the similar age. Here, the bridesmaid should be a girl.

But in China you can't have kids, you only can have one child. less fun.

Met someone online? Haven't thought about that, is that popular in your country? arranged marriage, I don't know if it's China's "窶佛?亲"ﾂ？"窶佛?亲"means you meet someone through other's introduce. It's the most common way here though many people don't like this way because it seems too embarrassed.

Not particularly common yet, but online relationships work as a more anonymous outlet than formally arranged meetings for people who are too busy, unlucky or just plainly unsociable.
