In Poland, you can drink alcohol (and you are considered as an adult) if you are 18. XD

Well I suppose it was something the director came out with just to make money from teens, however here you can also buy alcohol at 18 (even if they rarely ask for your ID)

I've aged since I first posted to this thread. Now I'm 45! Still plenty of years left to be a pain in the posterior to the world at large! Don't know if I'm cool in my advanced years, but I do know I tend to be a fool! Hey! it rhymed!

As for beer, I've never understood what the appeal is for the stuff. I had it once wa-a-a-a-a-a-a-y back when I was a young pup (19) and thought it tasted like piss. Haven't touched the stuff since. One less alcoholic in this world!

Yea i have a wayyys off. People in foreign countries are lucky, and due to that respect you don't really have a problem with alcohol. Only if the US could see that, i wouldn't have to have to buy it illegally anymore.

ME and my friends usually drink when at a club or party or just when were hanging out watching or a movie or something. Just to stay live and everything.

Like Steve Carlton's 1972 season with the Phils. 27-10, 1.90 ERA, 310 Ks with a team that won only about 60 games and finished last.

Julius Erving's "long jump" dunks -- he came running down the court and took off at the foul line, stayed airborne until he reached the basket, then came down and scored 2.

1979's "Rapper's Delight", the first rap ever. 15 minutes of no-vulgar-language, no-disrespect-to-women, urban storytelling by Wonder Mike, Master Gee, and Big Bank Hank to the beat of Chic's "Good Times".

Golgo, my man, you touched on a lot of fond sporting memories!

I remember going to The Vet to see "Lefty" pitch some three or four times during that fateful season. That season he was THE most dominant pitcher in the majors. He was awesome!

Then there was The Doctor and his house calls at the old Spectrum. Michael Jordan, Dominique Wilkins, all of today's NBA high fliers learned their lessons from Julius. It was an honor for him to have been a Sixer!

As for rap, I do remember hearing "Rapper's Delight", another song that was popular in the day was Sugar Hill's "Apache". I recall how it wasn't at all offensive, unlike the crap that pollutes the music scene today!

"Freedom" by Grand Master Flash is another one I remember. And Curtis Blow.

I liked a lot of artists of the Philadelphia International label, like MFSB, O'Jays, etc. I was sad to hear that Mr. Whitehead of McFadden & Whitehead ("Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now") was shot dead in Philly last week while he was working on his car on the street.

My track team used to come down to Philly for the Penn Relays every spring for the schoolboys' mile relay.

I often play the MFSB's Greatest Hits album. I can't get enough of "TSOP (The Sound of Philadelphia)". Do you remember when that song was used as the theme song for the "Soul Train"? (hosted by Don Cornelius then)
