Reminds me of a song from one of my fave movies...

🧑‍🎤
"You are sixteen going on seventeen
Waiting for life to start
Somebody kind who touches your mind
Will suddenly touch your heart..."

I was kinda expecting this would come up!
But you forgot to soften it up!
Some of us might be hurt, being so young 😊

It's okay to be young! I'll come to pass....sooner or later.

Greetings from your day-old member

😊
I'm surprised at the demographics here, pretty youthful bunch.
Everybody sounded so mature, so cool, I would think finally I found a a site worthy of becoming a peer......but the bell curve, high mortality after 25, huh!

Well, that doesn't scare me. I'll stay with it. Maybe I'll ask my kids to join, yay! A family union on the web would be awesome.

I've just turned 44 today, that's
2C in hexadecimal=2x16+C,
54 in octal=5x8+4,
230 in quadral=2x4*2 +3x4, and
101100 in binary=1x2*5 +1x2*3 +2x2*2

Is it you guys being mature for your age, or me chlidlilke for mine?

Stay with JREF after 25 and you're a survivor:
Live long and prosper!🙂

I'm 22 years old and will be 23...I just keep feeling older as each day passes by.

Well, lexico, I'll turn 46 in January, I've been a member for close to a year now and JREF is still a very fun place to visit. You'll find the occasional old fart like me who's a member.
👍

Thats actually pretty cool being around a few 50+ year olds. I sort of feel like maybe their years of wisdom can be passed onto me.

Hi, Carth!

Nice to meet you on the web. I still have to wait a couple years till I get 50+, but I'm pretty close. I'm glad to have you around. I find the people here pretty friendly and courteous. It's kind of like being in school again. A good one, that is.

See you around, Merry Christmas. 🙂

Like lexico, I have a few years to go before I reach the half-century club, but I'd be willing to impart what wisdom I have. As the old saying goes, you're never too old to learn something!

Hi, ippolito!

I'm 2 days old at JREF. Turned 44 by star date the day before. I love to study hand carts, and I want to make dictionaries on the side. You can see one Japanese hand cart, the RIAKA, in my avatar.

Nice to meet you, ippolito!

I've been wondering about the same question of min. & max. age here. I remember one member was 12, maybe, and another was 61. They should be with us. Try going through the posts here and you should be able to locate them.

Kimchi? Oh, yes. I have some at every meal. The pickled vegetable is widespread all over asia, but kimchi with red pepper is unique to Korea. Japan has it's own pickles, one of the better known is UME, pickled apricots, very salty, and pickled ginger is also popular.

Kimchi has been gaining popularity in the past 10-20 years among Japanese. One Japanese customer visiting my company wanted to go kimchi shopping for his wife. I wonder how your Japanese customers carry it? One source says the cabbage originates from the mediterranean coast circa 1 CE. This could be very close to Roma or Jerusalem!

The spicy flavor is only one feature of Kimchi, and many find it soothing to the system. 😌 Just needs a little getting used to. I've seen one American having one big bowl for lunch. That was extreme even in my eyes, but hey, it's a free country. 😌

I've heard spaghetti noodles and Beijing black bean paste noodles are related, supposedly introduced by Marco Polo (<?>). There is an interesting continuum of this noodle "stretching" from Manchuria to West China; the western variety is called Xinjiang Lamien, using a lot of tomatoes, kinda resembling your red variety. Since red peppers and tomatoes come from South America after 1492, the spaghetti sauce and Kimchi probably weren't red in Marco Polo's time.

I don't know how all this "food talk" relates to this poll, but, hey, let's add some flavor to it! It can be pretty frightening talking about age! 😊

As for the hand scanning, you could first photocopy your hand, and then scan it. Too much exposure might give you strange results. Is this for your work, or do you plan to use it in your profile? Or is it the Vulcan sign? I hope you're not asking me to read your palm! I'm a little lacking in that department.

saggittarius

I am saggittarius 29th Nov..
so you could understand the steps of my life in the hand?

I get it. You're talking about the hand "charts." It's interesting how language can twist things in a strange way. I'm still studying the hand carts, but would have to go to a palm reader for the other one. You got me there, ippolito! 😌

I'd like to suggest that...
