When it finally stopped we still couldn't sleep 'cos the guy in the next room started snoring, and he sounded just like the Jaws tune - you know the noise when the shark is coming? Well, we managed to pass the time 'til morning somehow. :D

I guess the floors and walls amplified the bass from the snoring, and giving that cello feel.
Serious Sub-bass Snoring Shenanigans!

One drunken night when I was student (including the obligatory shopping trolley ride), my house mate from my college days fell asleep face down in the downstairs bathroom, and I could still hear his snoring from my box room upstairs.
Once I heard a motor bike going up the road, and for just a minute I seriously thought it was my friend snoring.
Thankfully we are still good friends.

Normaly i sleep from 2 up to 7.30 in the morning, so yeah around 5.30-6 hours normaly in the week.. on friday-saturday around 8-9, and saturday sunday around 6 again....

is this enough? mmm sometimes, but yeah i am just pretty bussy now .. sometimes i wonder, why cant i just sleep for 4 hours every night, and still feel good..... when im tired, my mind goes everywhere,, i have no control on the worries,,, sucks a lot... i think to much sometimes.. but yeah,, maybe my brain will get bigger then isnt lexico?

It could be light; lots and lots of summer light affects the hyothalamus gland to produce a great number of hormones.
If you suspect light has something to do, try closing the drapes around 6 pm, and see if it helps.
Any change in food ? Late night excercise ? Too few calories... these things can also affect your sleep pattern. If it gets serious, talk to a reputable doctor, or an herbalist in your area.

Hey, I can use a good brew in that line once in a while. Funny thing about alcohol; it help me to fall asleep, but if the amount is not excessive, I sleep fewer hours. Medical doctors also told me that. 👍
But then there are moment of excessive drinking that leaves my liver to do over-time, making me sleep longer. This particular case seems more like recovery from intoxication rather than having a good time/sleep. 😊

I can see you are suffering from some kind of sleep disorder. Not knowing the details of your discomfort, I can only say that excessive hours of sleep can/will give you too much release of repressed ideas, which your mind might try to rationalise in you half-refreshed state. That condition is not the average kind of environment that dreams or ideas surface, hence causing your brain to 'idle in excess' if I may borrow the analogy of the engine. I personally suffered from headaches and only understood after a medical doctor explained it to me saying, "Too much sleep can get you depressed and tired from all the thinking."
On the other hand, I recall a brief nodding or nap can be infinitely refreshing, well, relatively speaking, I mean. :-)

So if you sleep just 8 hours, does that gives you the best result ?

I have had the same thing. I always got headaches on Saturday mornings. When I thought about it I guessed it was because I was having a lie-in and getting dehydrated from not drinking anything while I was asleep for 10 hours. So now I wake up early, have a long drink of water and then laze about for an hour or two! :gulp: Then I still feel like I've had a lie-in but without the headache! 👍

the main discomfort i have is just i want more sleep...I'm 15 and if i have a sleeping disorder i kinda have a really bad problem there, then again, I'm 15 and having more than 8 hrs sleep still makes me tired, i also have a really bad problem there...but usually after i wake up and im still tired, i have a shower and i dont feel sleepy any more...

I just slept about 13 hours, and felt I should share it.

(I dreamed I was a baby dinosaur........?)

After 20 years in the military (Navy), my biological clock is all screwed up, thanks to having to wake up and sleep at all hours, especially when aboard a ship at sea and you have to stand watches. These days, I turn in betwen ten and eleven and often wake around four (including weekends, holidays and vacations), just long enough to check my email and do some surfing before leaving for work at about six. But I sometimes catch a nap after work and that keeps me fresh for long hours of TV viewing!
👍

I need my 8 hrs to function. If I get less I feel sick and groggy until lunch time. I can go on 2-5 hrs of sleep if I'm really excited (ei a trip the next day or something that would get you pumped up) but overall I need my 8hrs or 2-5 + a nap :p

I sleep on the average about 3 hours a night.

Only three!

You, quite seriously, should consult a doctor. That's not enough, IMHO.

I'm 62(almost) and my wife is 59 ... we both get around 5 - 7 hours of sleep (which is not that much - but older folks tend to "shorten-up" on sleep). We both, also, tend to nap - usually in mid-conversation.

But - three hours - you must be exhausted!

Please ... right now ... promise .. go see your doctor ! You need a good night's sleep!

If that doesn't work, I can send you a list of really nice drinks that may do the trick ....... 👍

Concerned,

ニ淡ニ停?。ニ停?

Well, with all my free-lancing projects going on, I get anywhere between 4-6 hours a sleep a night. On weekends, I consider myself off work, so I stay up allllllll night. Either go clubin' or stay at home and fly on-line. (Until my wife get here) hehehe..then it's another story. :-)

I think you answered your own question White Comet - you're 15! All kinds of crazy stuff is going on in your hormones and stuff. You'll probably grow out of it. 👍

8 hours might be oversleeping for you, for me, 5.5 hours is enough to feel normal, 7 hours is too much though, I wake up with a headache, and I feel even more tired, so try reducing your sleep time, might help...

yeah, right on the point there, nowaday's sleeping in is just not hearing your alarm, i overslept the other day and got up real late,
8AM :? (now thats late) where does the time go?

Alarm? Good heavens! I haven't used one of those in years! Don't need to, given I'm often up at 4 a.m. anyway!
:D

yeah, even somedays im up before the alarm goes off, and im waiting to just switch it off.

I have a very reliable alarm called Simon. When he used to work shifts I needed two alarm clocks on the other side of the room, because I would only get up if I had to get out of bed to switch off the alarm!
