I like your attitude. Too many people have boyfriends and girlfriends just for the sake of it. My best friend is with a guy who treats like a slave...All because she doesn't want to be alone/single. She is only 20!!!
When you meet the right person, you will want to build a relationship. I think it should only be with someone special.However, I don't judge people having many girlfriends or boyfriends. If they are happy and having fun, why not?
As for me, I've had two boyfriends and they were both really special guys.

The last one I had was a totally control freak. He wouldn't talk to me the whole day if I didn't want to hold his hand plus if we fought the next day he would act like nothing happened! He ruined everything I worked so hard for... he was so demanding of me but I couldn't get him to do the slightest thing for me... not to mention he was a bum no job and I had to feed him and take care of him and crap... not only did my bank account suffer... but so did my grades... he would not let me go to class or study or do homework or projects if he wanted to see me... for some reason he thought I owed my time to him over everything else... he hated my friends even though he never met them... and wouldn't let me see them... and HE STOLE MY DIR EN GREY DVD... the bastard should burn.

My education and making something of myself at an early age for a head start in my career of choice is more important to me right now than anything else. Besides how can you support you and your lover/partner/etc. when you can't even support yourself? See what I mean? To a lot of girls I seem very cold and distant, but it's because I want to make something of myself. Dating is fun, but so is life in general. So the question is which is more fun and important: dating or life? For me, I choose life.

But then, I've noticed that most of the girls that had boyfriends seemed to be in it for some kind of self validation. :? And we all no that's no reason to enter a relationship. Interesting view point. I agree with you that making something of oneself is very important but i wouldn't put that over my private life. U said dating or life? You can't exclude them. Dating, or being with someone or whatever is part of life. I can see how many people just haven't gotten around to having something serious, circumstances and what not, but i can't grasp if this is done intentionally. It is true that there more important things in life than romance, but it would have to be something very crucial. Besides, being with someone can actually help one figure out oneself better and find out new things. I know that at this age we feel as we know what there is to life or we think that we have choose the right path, but one never knows. You can't exlude such fundemantal and basic human relations from your life, beacause that's the core of life itself.
