hello everyone
I just found this site today and hope it will become a good resource.
My username is based on my cat's name Tama. Original, huh?
I am 30+ and married to a Japanese and we live in Kanagawa-ken. We have one daughter who is a san-nen sei (3rd grade).
I like to travel, dance, play tennis, kyudo, and learn new things.
Life in Japan can be amazing, peaceful, and interesting. It can also be frustrating, aggravating and confusing - a lot like pretty much any place on Earth.
I look forward to getting to know the community better

Hi Tamaneko,

I like your name . Is your daughter on a regular Japanese school? My son is only 3 years old but we are planning to put him on a regular Japanese school so I was wondering how it is for your daughter. I guess you have PTA Duty as well?

Enjoy the forum!

Hello and thank you for the welcome!
yes, she attends a regular local school. Our undo-kai is coming up soon if the rains will stop.
PTA and volunteering too *we got to choose. It is not too bad though. It is a nice way to meet other parents. I am always impressed by the near 100% turnout for parent-teacher conferences.

Are you planning on sending your son to a pre-school? We found it helpful in getting our daughter acclimated to the Japanese way and for her to make new friends.

Welcome Tananeko9!
This forum is of great use to me and I'm pretty sure it can serve as equivalent use to you.

Hi and welcome to the JREF forums Tamaneko9!

Welcome aboard, Tamaneko! Good to see another Kanagawa resident here!

Tama is a very cool name for a cat haha.
Why did you choose that name?

We chose the name because when she was a kitten, she was a little round ball of fur.

Thanks for the welcomes!
It has been a busy time with school activities and festivals.
Just yesterday we bought plane tickets for summer vacation travel.
