O-Hayo. Hello everyone. I just joined Japan Forum and as you can see, this is my first post. Such a noob. I am just beginning to try to learn Japanese, because I have a huge interest in the culture and language. I've started a blog to document my struggles and interests, so please check it out (bebodobopjapan.blogspot.com).
I am not taking any classes and am trying to learn Japanese on my own, so any direction, support and advice is extremely welcome.
I hope that I can learn Japanese along with everyone else here, it just seems so overwhelming right now. But this will be my 3rd language, so I know its possible for me to learn.

WELCOME TO JREF !! This will surely prove to be a good place to learn Japanese, get to know more about Japan. . . in serious tones, and in humorous. . . and to make some friends ! I look forward to hearing more from you !! There is an area for learning Japanese, and there are not only a lot of comments made on certain questions and such, but some good links too.

Also, on JREF there are some write-ups (not here on the forum boards, but on JREF) and I have put a link to that in a post on page three of this very useful thread for you--check it out, please.

Thank you so much everyone for such a warm welcome. I've been checking other internet forums for a while (ebaum's) and they are not so nice to new members. Anyways, I do hope to stick around and get to know the place...

For starters at least--as you work more and more on your kanas--please use it to get used to the sentence patterns and word order !! See you there !! mata ne !! MM
