I need help with the translation of the following word:
卖了
I know that the second kanji is "ryuu", meaning "to finish; understand", but have no idea about the first one (couldn't find it), and what the word composed of the two means 😌

I looked it up in a program called "gucharmap". The output was:

U+5356 CJK UNIFIED IDEOGRAPH-5356

General Character Properties

Unicode category: Letter, Other

Various Useful Representations

UTF-8: 0xE5 0x8D 0x96
Octal escaped UTF-8: \345\215\226
Decimal entity reference: 卖

CJK Ideograph Information

Definition in English: sell; betray; show off
Mandarin Pronunciation: MAI4 NA1

So, I guess, it's chinese. The Mandarin Pronunciation of 了 is LIAO3.

EDIT: http://www.worldlingo.com/products_services/worldlingo_translator.html translates "卖了" to "sold"

And the Japanese reading is "ryou" (not "ryuu").
