Hey all!
My name is Mori, and I'm a mixed Japanese-American with mostly Japanese and some German and Irish heritage. If you don't know, my name is translated to "Forest" in English. I have been wanting to find someone who can do traditional calligraphy with ink and, I believe, horse brushes. I am looking to have it integrated into a Japanese brushed ink tattoo I am getting, but my artist wants to see how the brushstrokes interact with the character and that's why I am reaching out. He has been classically for 5 years trained by an American that spent 15 years in Japan tattooing under a mentor. Please let me know if you can help.

My father is Japanese and was born in Arkansas during the Japanese-American relocation during WWII and because of it, our family no longer speaks Japanese. He grew up in his parents original home in Long Beach, California. My grandmother and grandfather were born in California. My grandmother's parents were from the San Francisco area and their parents came from Japan in around the 1820s. My grandfather's parents were born and raised in Hawaii with a few trips back to Japan to visit during their lifetimes, while my great grandfather came from Japan around 1806.
I have been to Tokyo once in my life for a week during a business trip, however, I would like to live there for a few years one day. I have tried to learn Japanese solo during college with ill results. I speak a functional German and functional Spanish. During the last 10 years of my life, I have been trying to reconnect with my Japanese heritage more. If you can find help me with my request above, I would greatly appreciate it and a Hanko is accepted too!
