My name is HeavenlyShiva and I live in Alaska. Hopefully for not much longer, 5 years wilderness is enough.... 
Haven't been to Japan yet, but going there it is definately top priority on my list of "things to do, places to visit".
When I lived in Florida, I was a member of the Morikami Museum & Japanese Garden. I miss the little gift shop ( bought quite a lot of japanese stuff there, hehe ) and of course the gorgeous garden.
Once they had a flea market and I bought a lot of japanese videos. One of my favorite is some kind of detective story ( don't speak the language, but I manage to follow the story line ) and a tape with several "Music Fair" episodes. That's how I fell in love with "Lola" by Saijo Hideki. I also saw him a couple times on "Iron Chef". Love that show, too !
Aside from that like all kinds of music, especially j-pop and all the final fantasy tracks. Nobuo Uematsu rulz !
