Good J-Pop Bands?

I've only just recently become interested in Japanese Music, and as a result, have only heard songs by T.M.Revolution and Larc~en~Ciel. I would like to know about any other good bands and where I might obtain somes songs by those bands.

I have a lot of difficulty finding any music to BUY, so if I learn the names of some more bands/singers, I'm sure I'll be able to locate more music. If you know where the music is normally sold, and where I might be able to locate it, I'd be delighted to know.

Anyway, I try not to make things too confusing for you...

Here are some bands I recommend, I try to keep the list short.

I've tried to resist the temptation to just list off a whole load of bands I like! lol...

Other pop musicians that other people have recommended are Utada Hikaru, Dreams Come True, and Ayumi Hamasaki, but I haven't listened to them and don't know what they are like. Morning Musume are another popular 'pop' group.

Lucifer, Baiser, Raphael, Janne de arc, Duel Quartz, Shazna too. They need some lovin on the mention me scale as well. (even if I did spell half of them wrong )

Stay away from Run and Gun whatever you do! It will only lead to pain!

These are among those jpop bands I listen to, there might be more but I can't remember all the names right now.

I can't believe I didn't mention B'z! Yes, they are good.

Yatta is the funniest song... I have the video for that. I laughed so much, and I can never talk about leaves in the same way....

Utada Hikaru is a very good R&B artist, although the R&B label is really only a flavor added to her unique music. A lot of her songs are layered with lush textures of some interesting electronics sounds done tastefully. Although her Exodus fiasco was, in my opinion, way too focused on trying to appeal to her US audience (the song Kremlin Dusk was exceptionally good, though, with even a really cool name), her albums Distance and Deep River are both filled with great compositions.

Ken Hirai is a "truer" R&B artist in that he sticks closer to R&B conventions. If you like R&B, check him out.

Shunichi Miyamoto strikes me as the next Ken Hirai for some odd reason, but his songs are generally more ballads than R&B.

Spitz is a mellow adult alternative rock band.

Noriko Sakai got me into j-music in the first place. She does pop... well... pop.

I've always wondered what Oda Kazumasa is up to now. His voice is reminiscent of Ryuichi Kawamura (ex-Luna Sea), and his music sounds kind of 80's (70's? probably not 60's...) oldies, but more refined. Lots of ballady songs, I think.

Megumi Hayashibara has some catchy tunes in her half and half album. They sound right off an anime OP (if they aren't already).

...

There's more, and I haven't even gotten to the actual rock side (right. as if things can be split so evenly. or pop, for that matter...), but I'm tired. I'd give my own personal favorites, but nobody ever seems particularly interested.

Yeah Kinsao you're right about Yatta be a funny song. Actually I think its just such a happy/funny song that you can resist getting happy by listening to it.

Yup I've seen it, And it only made it an even more happier song for me. Though the fact that they are haflnaked does ruin some of it for a guy, I would still say its an amazing perfomance they deliver in their PV.

My Jpop bands of the moment are KAT-TUN and NEWS .. they are pretty good ..

try listening to Sayaendou by NEWS and Butterfly or Miracle by KAT-TUN ..

Utada Hikaru is really great too .. and Ayumi Hamasaki ..

There is also Buck-Tick .. Their song "Dress" is pretty cool ..
