Funny people in Japan - Niigata

Every now and then we get a new member who posts here for the sole purpose of trying to drive visitors to their blog.

Fortunately, they usually go away rather quickly.

Didn't know I was doing something wrong. This is a forum about Japan. My blog is about Japan. I read the forum and post. It is a permanent tab on my browser. Can you say Troll>>>> Hope you enjoyed the video.

Sure I can say "troll". "Troll".

I didn't watch the video. I didn't find the the-Japanese-sure-are-stupid! bait that appealing.

Saw the video a bit but didn't find it funny at all... but maybe that's my bad sense of humor (being Dutch).

Thank you for sharing it though!

The Benny Hill track was nostalgic. Haven't heard that bit of music in a long time.

Grinning Studio,

You need to get your eyes checked, or have some writing lessons. Nobody "ran into" the door at all. They merely went to the door with the handle (one that seemed more logical to choose, because it was easier to recognize), and most of them caught themselves by reading the sign (which says that the door cannot be used, so they must use the automatic door), and they went to the other door.

Funny? Not in my opinion.
Stupid people? Uh, I know which one I'd vote for.

Oh, and I didn't bother to turn on the sound when I played your video. No reason.

By the way....I wasn't saying you shouldn't post here or that you shouldn't promote your blog here.

I was only saying that, based on past experience, posters whose sole reason for posting here is to attempt to attract traffic to their blogs tend to disappear from JREF rather quickly. Lack of any personal interaction and connection with the other posters combined with a realization that their efforts result in a disappointing amount of redirected traffic adds up to an insufficient incentive to continue posting here and they just wander away.

They do seem to also share a characteristic of being full of a burning zeal for discussing (or at least hearing themselves talk about) Japan.....provided, of course, that all such actual interaction take place in the venue of their ego-blog; any discourse taking place here is considered misspent and to be avoided.

Thanks for the feedback. Especially Mike. It is good to know how seriously everyone here takes themselves. That's also pretty funny. It is nice to get feedback, and I really appreciate you taking the time to do so.

My passion is promoting other peoples passion. I write about creative people on my blog, I interview creative people on my podcast, I promote people and their creative projects. So, It's not all about me, only 99% about me, haha. Please check out what the entire blog is all about before you judge me. Or judge away, it is pretty funny. I am adding content here on the forum in the form of discussion.

I don't take myself too seriously. I'm just a guy, a bald one at that, with a big nose and a toothy grin. People laugh at me all the time. I'm married to a Japanese woman, my warden, and survive in Japan. I've been here so long that everyone around me expects me to act Japanese, and are surprised when I don't. It's funny.

The video is not funny for me at all.
It's just some people took a few seconds before they recognise the automatic door...
And calling those people in the video 'stupid' is not funny at all.
If you think people here are too serious to be able to understand your joke, you're mistaken.

If you want empathy of your own sense of humour - I wonder if you have one - from others, the best thing you can do is to laugh at your self, your own mistakes and so on, not try to make up a pathetic joke at others' expense.

Thanks for all the input. I changed the title and information of the video. Cheers!
