hi,
i beileve that there are many people that are not happy to live here in japan.
including japanese nationals.

you read many post about how bad japan is etc...
it is also very easy to say, "if you don't like here just get out"
so i was just wondering what are the reason for you to not to get out from this country?
i have met many japanese nationals that have the same feeling, but of course, not having a choice, they just survive here.
for the foreigners living in here that would like to goback, i am sure that there are many reason of not being able to goback to their country, e.g having a family, not being able to find a good job, etc...
i am fine in here so far, married with a kid, but i am sure if that time will come, i will have a difficut time to goback.

and forums or virtual worlds such as these, help to get rid of some frustrations, venting out basically.

have a great day.

I stay primarily because I want to. This is where I have made my life, and I am happy here. I have nothing against the country of my birth, and I know I could do far worse than go back and live there, but I would rather stay where I am. I am at a good point in my life and I want to enjoy it as long as it lasts.

My Japanese wife and I want to leave, but on our terms. We are working on a 'soft' landing so that we can move with jobs and continue to help my wife's family (they are older and need some assistance at the moment).

As to living here, it has its days, but recently I am not seeing many of them.

thanks for the reply,
like many other country there is the ageism problem, so i felt to address this.
i am 43 now, and even if i decided to goback which is england, i am italian my self, but haven't been living in there for about 25 years, i would feel spaced out.
anyway, ageism is a real problem for most of human, in any society, for various reasons, maybe if i was the owner of a company, i would'nt know if i could employ someone of my age, can't really judge anyone, but still i think if someone had decided to goback, that would be the main problem.

my philosophy is, nantoka naru meaning, somehow, i alwasy find something.
but the reality is, it will be very difficult.

so far so good, so touch wood!!
for people that are facing problems like that, i wish the best.
gambatte ne!!!
