Majestic , THANK YOU so so much for helping Thanasi...he's a very good friend of mine. I told Thanasi about this Forum and suggested he join and post the Flag here. I sold this Flag to Thanasi ..it came from another old friend's collection (Ron) who passed away and I helped the Widow sell of his collection. Ron had 2 Flags , I kept one and mailed this one to Thanasi and I sent him a copy of the Good Luck Flag Book as a Christmas gift. I introduced Thanasi to the widow and he paid her directly. I had no issue with the Flag , it looked period and was in nice shape. But when Thanasi posted it on a Facebook page ..the 15 year old "experts" started saying it was Chinese writing and was a fake . ...typical. But since I can not translate it , I suggested Thanasi post it here to find out for sure and his own peace of mind. I have no doubt it's original , it is not Chinese and not a SeaBee fake and I really appreciate your help translating it for him and proving the Facebook experts wrong. Just to clarify ..the Soldier's name is Akasawa ? Does it say which Unit he belonged to or any mention of Dates or other interesting comments ? As you can imagine , These Flags are VERY hard to find in Greece and I am so glad Thanasi has it now.
