Do chicks in Japan REALLY fall all over foreign guys?

When I walk the streets by myself, especially some elderly Japanese women give me some guite bad looks...
Right now I have a feeling that they(Japanese in general) dont like me at all, Im too weird maybe? I dont know whats the truth, since I cant understand what theyre saying..

Actually, it might be that those people think you are one of those Russian girls who work at the "yarashii" places... in some areas, there are quite a few of them, so I wouldn't be suprised if some people just assumed every white girl they see is one of them.

When I learnt the world "Chick" from my dictionnary, it was said to be the english for the French word "nana" which is familiar, but not usually used in a rude way. When I found it used in songs it was just a kind of "cool" (at least for the singers) to talk about girl.
Well, I can understand that American or Australian can use it in a different way/meaning. It is same with French spoken in France, and French spoken in Canada.

Hi, this is my first post

Just thought I would point out that the picture with the "chicks" seems to be of ducklings, unless chickens now have webbed feet and rounded beaks.

My plan is to goto Japan for a year with the JET scheme, first I need a degreee which I am working on at the moment.

I suppose there is a part of me that hopes that getting a girlfriend will be easier in Japan due to me being foreign and having a "headstart", I must remember to try and not be an otaku (in public) or I will end up in the same situation I am here.

Here, I don't know what to talk about, there trivial subjects such as my country will be foreign to them, just as Japan is foreign to me. Although I do wonder how I will keep conversation with them when I can't speak Japanese, I will be learning it before I go but still I doubt it will be that good.

I am not blonde and do no have blue eyes, I am of mixed race, still I don't look Asian, so hopefully I will have a chance, although knowing how quickly trends change in Japan, in another 3 years maybe they will have gone off foreigners.
