Do chicks in Japan REALLY fall all over foreign guys?

You stick out your foot and they are gonna fall over, especially with those super high heels they all wear. 🎈

Well, when I was over in Japan last August, no girls or ladies fawned over me. But then, I'm black, 44 (at the time) and I hardly qualify as handsome. Homely? Yeah! But not handsome! Oh, well! That's life!
:D

Should've gone to Stockholm instead. :D

Golgo is right...adult chicks are Hens or Roosters! :D

I have a Japanese buddy who swears by Japanese women because he thinks they're less work, linguistically and culturally. But, I don't necessarily mean to say he is representative of all Japanese men. :?

I know there are lots of guys in Latin America who put fair skinned blond/blue eyed women on a high pedestal--but I think this has to do more with a culture that sees skin tone in terms of class distinction. ☝

Well, I think it's true a lot of them are attracted to foreigners. I guess it's only natural to be fascinated by/attracted to someone different. Are people genetically more attracted to their own race? Interesting...
:D :D :D :D :D :sorry:

i agree that people can be fascinated by foreigners because they are different.
i dont believe that a person can be attracted to mainly their own race, people as a person want to be themself and do things that they want to do, everyone is different.

kisu, it doesn't matter. They are the same as the women in a lot of cases. They just like someone different. Physically speaking, I have dark hair and almost black eyes, but my husband said what he found attractive was my big eyes and high nose, white skin, and...well, a couple other things...

Anyway, it all depends on the person. Simple as that.

@chiquiliquis, I've heard a lot of Japanese men say that too. That it would be too complicated to marry a foreigner. Maybe my husband thinks that now? :p Just like I do... :?

You don't exactly sound particularly happy with your marriage at the moment kirei...

not happy

You took the words out of my mouth !
I had exactly the same feeling, I have been thinking that too, since a few days.
Sudenly it makes me unhappy and sad, too. :sorry:

funny, i see it everyday i can say in the u.s. when i go out i do not expect to be able to pick a girl up, but in japan i pick one up every time i go somewhere.. but you must approach them, and they do not go crazy, as many people think..

Well I'm going to be with a girl 2 weeks....so I don't think I will be chasing other girls as it isn't my habit 😌 ...but I'll pay attention to things

and I seem to be quite popular with the 12-14 year old demographic of girls I teach as an assistant language teacher.

HAHAHA. Yeah, i have a mate in Japan in his late 20's as a JET, he gets all the 11-13 year olds chasing him, its hilarious.

But from my own experiences it seems to be curiousity, if you're a friendly open person its not just women, I had some great conversations with shop attendants, people on trains/stations, people on the street etc. :-) Open your mind, meet a new person, its amazing.

Yeah... it's particularly vexing when, having spotted you in your window, 4 giggling "curious" 13 year old girls show up at your front door on Saturday night, and your neighbors start eyeing from accross the street--and you realize that this is the kind of thing that people loose their jobs over here. It can actually be scary--albeit flattering. ☝

Lol, for situations like that I have a large pile of photos that i can use to bore my victims into a stupor and suggest that they leave. Its a good idea to not teach your address to the students, things can happen both ways.

Yeah... well, unfortunately I live in a town so small that, regardless, everyone knows where I live--parents and children alike. I am extra sure to keep my curtains closed now, though. I figure so long as I don't actually let them in the apt. I am ok...

Don't take my post seriously, it's second degree!
Well for the japanese girl friend, I never experienced so, but from experienced and skilled friends, it seems that you can meet 3 kinds of Japanese Girls:
- the one who will date you, and phone her friends the whole day long while with you to say them they are with a kakkoi gaijin! and so on... Usually the Shibuya friendly kinda girl

-the free lance english speaker, who usually made a ryugaku in a foreign country: she is not even more japanese, have trouble with her parents blaspheming her for having forget about her japanese cultural identity and you can easily notice her behavior is not the one of japanese: excited in class, answering the teacher, asking questions, laughing loudly etc.

-the normal japanese: the one you meet not on purpose. Usually if you meet that kinda girl, it means that you're not like all this guys coming to Japan for "sexual tourism", while in their back home country, puritanism is "de rigueur"... Seems i won't make a lot of friend with that...

In brief there is no really rules, and hopefully. Everybody's different, and dating a japanese girl or having success in Japan often match with your success back home, I would think. It's kind of rude and generalizing to say Japanese girl are easy to date, especially if you speak english and say Iwoshimaw and TowKyow instead of Hiroshima and Tokyo

well...here are my first impressions; the Japanese girls I have met now, seem to like the european/american look, for example one girl really praised Leo di Caprio, and one guy who looked like him in her opinion (in my eyes he didnt, but yeah, he had blonde hair.. ;) )
Then again, about Japanese guys liking foreign women.. Im a normal scandinavian girl, and I have blonde hair and blue eyes...and I think everyone here in Japan thinks Im really strange..an alien indeed! When I walk the streets by myself, especially some elderly Japanese women give me some guite bad looks...
Right now I have a feeling that they(Japanese in general) dont like me at all, Im too weird maybe? I dont know whats the truth, since I cant understand what theyre saying..
But on the other hand, the people from the place Im staying are incredibly nice towards me, and _really_ helpful and warm..(I really owe them a lot, i wouldve been in so many troubles if it werent for them)

im living in japan at the moment
and all i have to say is be careful...
some of the japanese are pretty twisted... the make up so many rumours which arnt true. It ruins your reputation sometimes.

I wouldn't worry about them Chipi - the old ladies are just curious. They don't mean anything by staring. The best way to get them to stop, is to wave and say "hello." If you are on a train, just smile at them. They get so embarassed they will never look at you again. :-)

hi

Hey people when i go to Japan am i meant to expect a load of local girls to fall for me because im foreign, i want people to like me because of who i am, not because where i was born.

Maybe they're giving you bad looks because you're so pretty and they feel jealous. Women can get that way. 👍

If there was a roomful of homely gals, then a supermodel walked in you think they're gonna give her friendly looks? :D
