Discovering my Japanese ancestry

Hi everyone.
I am Sonia, from Sabah (North Borneo) Malaysia.
I have been searching for information on Lieutenant General Masao Baba, but there is not much. Most of the info are about the WWII war crimes, the surrenderring of the Japanese, the trials and convictions, and where he was put to death by hanging in Rabaul, Papua New Guinea.
I am hoping to learn more about his ancestors, parents, siblings, family and relatives, about his personal life, childhood,etc. Was he married? Any children? Any siblings?
How do I find these information?
This is very important to me and my family. Thank you.

His father was an army officer, Masayuki Baba. He seems to have attended military schools from a very early age.

How are you related to him?

Hi there.. Yes... His father was a Lieutenant Masayuki Baba (source from Wikipedia).

My late grandmother(father's mother) worked for a Lt. General as his personal cook during the WWII in 1944. Based on what the elders of my father's side told us, he was my father's biological father. When I saw the Lt. General's pic from the Internet, I knew I was looking at the right person I was searching for.

The resemblance was shivering, not just for me, my whole family felt the same, thought the same.

Your English is splendid; it is the General who was horrible.

I tried searching his name among Japanese pages and there is very little information about him. Most pages just repeat each other, giving a list of military units he served in or commanded and say he was hanged for war crimes. I found no mention of family except his father. If you want to find out more you're probably going to have to research the actual physical record archives in Japan. He has only a very minor net presence.

Thank you Mike Cash. Yes, you are right. Very little info from the internet. And yes, he was a horrible General, i guess that is the result of an early Prussian military education, which shaped him into the person he was. I try to think of him as a baby boy and a little child before sent to military school. I believe everyone is born good, but the way he was raised, made him evil. The damage done on others cannot be undone. Wars affect everyone involved in them.
