Dir en grey

By the way, thanks for posting the links to that video Precious4e!

Wow, it's cool to see that Diru are popping up in the media now. @_@ TV and mags and all...

I'm definitely aware of that. XD I was just getting at the fact that it's kind of a big deal (it seems to me, at least) for a band to break into the scene so suddenly and in full-force as they have.

I've never actually studied any of Kyo's art. Wierd... I've been known to touch strangers to check out thier work. I'm rude like that, I guess.:-) Does anyone have any good pics of them?

No problem ^^ You're welcome

I just found another one, dunno if you already know... it's with Koaru, but... i was really supruised by what he answered to the question about why dir en grey styed together for such a long time :(

Enjoy ^.^

thanks for the interview Yumiko......that's really surprising what he said about that point...but maybe it's the best way for them to stay together for such a long time...although I ever thought that they were more close to each other...

Yeah, I think I've read in an older interview (with Kyo maybe? can't remember) that they're not so close outside of their music. If you think about it, though, it seems very practical; it would be a shame if a band like them split because of personal matters that couldn't be resolved or something like that. It's hard to be around people you have personal issues with, let alone work with them.

That is true... I have heard something similar... They are more connected through their music than they are without... like as in more common interest... I think thats that same interview that you read Michiko-kitsune...

that's true too...if the band members are too close to eachother that can cause serious problems..and it would be sooo sad when a band like Diru splitted up because there are personal problems...also it's finally their decision and they have to make it the best and most comfortable way for them...but I thought at least that they are some of friends in some way..but only they know and I'll stay at their side and will support them, since they are an amazing band..

die's comment was really funny!!!!!:D

Poor Die...

I'm not shocked at all about the comment Kaoru made. I dare say, every band that has ever broken up (short of ones that had a member pass away) did it for personal reasons. Maybe not that they decided to hate each other, but always something that had nothing to do with the band as an entity, but because of an individual's life changes or opinion. Even 'artistic differences' are a personal reason.

Of course they're people, too! That's why I've never been one of those screaming fangirl types when I meet bands. True, I've never met anyone I adore as much as DEG, but still. I've met some relatively high caliber folks, and I kept my wits about me. Always remember: everybody poops.:giggle:

I think it's also good to keep in mind that "not close" doesn't equate "completely cold towards eachother". X3 Yeah, maybe they keep out of each other's business as Kaoru says, but I would qualify the cooperation needed to stick together and make music for ten years as some level of "friendship", even if they're not like OMG BFFs!!! If you know what I mean. XD

(This isn't in response to anyone in particular, by the way, just a random thought I had all of a sudden and felt like sharing.)

wow, surprising interivew, esp when kaoru said that the 5 of them isn't too close, they only come together to make music and care not so much about other's private life. if they've been together for 10 yrs, i thought they would be a little closer than this. lol. i guess this explains why shinya always look like he doesn't know why he's there?

rofl, he definitly is the odd one out.
But yeah, he didn't say they're distant. Not too close, not too distant. So it sounds to me more like a happy medium where they'll just let each other go home and be friends without having to live with each other and know all their personal stuff.
Oh, and I forget who mentioned Kaoru's hair- but yus; I don't mind the messy, long hair...just the facial hair. I loved his old styles, but the new one isn't terrible.
I just think all of diru should keep clean shaven. They're prettier that way.😌

Can't wait for a live DVD of this tour, and to somehow find out the set list for Toronto.

i listed out the set list in a post about 3 weeks ago. i did it after i came back from the show. nota complete set list, but about 70-80%

Same as the one in NYC the next day except we had Audience Killer Loop instead of Shokubeni and The Deeper Vileness instead of Disabled Complexes.....I would have liked to hear Disabled live though Audience Killer Loop is one of my fav songs and i'm glad they played it ^^

just want to make another commet about what Kaoru said...
I think it's really not the first time we've heard about that... i just remamber that story they told in earlier times... about the thing with Shinyas Handy. Didn't say tell, he bought one and after having it a half year he told the other members? and then a half year later he gave them the number? So.. i think, that's another point of "not too close" as Kao said....
But when I watch that old stuff, they look very close to each other (except Kyo maybe ^^") .. Maybe that changed, too~

I think (and hope) that they found a good middle between being too close to eachother and a total distance...at least it's their decision and they have to live with it, and if it's the best way for them to not be close friends than they should keep it (also for the sake of their music)...I was just surprised, cause other bands sometimes say that they are like friends and help eachother and then Kao said that they only come together to make music...but maybe friendship is for him being really really close to eachother and they also have their deep connection through their music...

I said this to my mom about this subject, "Of course they don't know anything about each other's personal lives. It's hard to know anything about something that doesn't exist." As they've said many times their lives kinda ARE the band. :p

ahh you guys had me worried for a bit, but now after finally being able to read the interview i have no worries. Being not too close and being not too distant = friends doesn't it? anyways, they played audience killer loop?! aww not at the show i went to! :( ah well, i'm still happy to have been able to see em:-)
