The single ASOM is going to have an american release. FYE will sell it
exclusively for $9.99. I already have the 1st press Japanese version.
But most likely for them I will buy it, to support them.
I wonder if it will get U.S airplay...probally not.
Singles don't do well in the U.S though...I hope they don't expect much
of sales.

Argh! I got that email too when I logged on today. My first thought before I saw the locations was "how disconnected is this band from reality", but personally I think financially this will be a good move. However! Aren't they pushing themselves a little hard? Remember last time they were completely wiped out after only going to TX NY CA, look at that tour schedule

They did do a survey and it was up online for a loooong time so they had an opportunity to gather a lot of info. The only thing was that the prospect of getting diru in the states seemed so far off that a lot of people exaggerated how far or how many of them there were. Plus they only asked how far WOULD you travel not how far COULD you travel. Keep in mind diru's fans are pretty much in a certain age group and that age group is weighed down by a lot of constraints when it comes to traveling.

Did free will america do the survery? I don't ever remember seeing a survery on FWA's site for diru at all except after the showcase tour and FVT if the survery was else where then I never saw it. I know the age range for Diru fans, but with the whole tour they could of honestly rethought everything and where they we're going to perform at, I think what they did is just got the biggest venues possible and booked diru to perform there. Honestly they should of planned this tour out more then just a month after FVT ended and decided to bring Diru back. With some of the venues they knew they'd be close to selling out, with with Toronto for instant by the fan base that was at FVT for diru they assumed they'd get close to filling up a venue that can hold 1600 people. I honestly don't even know 1600 diru fans that live up in canada so a smaller venue would be nice.
I just don't want Diru to be dissapointed when they go to some of the venues and see that their really quite empty because they venues were too big for their fan base in that state. *shrugs*
I'm not trying to argue so please no one think that it's just a matter of opinion.

Well seeing as how the management should have all the info on sales I hope they are basing their judgment on the sales they see. We can't know for sure that there aren't that many fans out there or if there aren't just random people who want to see them. I know some people who would go to see Diru just because they are interested but they aren't the hugest fans. But if they are just booking shows thinking that they are going to sell without info to back it up, then there might be some disappointment.

^ I do agree and i hope that they did do some research into the places they booked venues at. With some of the shows they can't really determine if there are alot of fans or not, but at other shows it seems like the venues might be a little to big.
A friend of mine just got a ticket for the toronto show and it's only GA1 seat 9, i'm not sure how many seats there are exactly for each section, but if it's 100 then they've only sold 109 tickets off of ticketmaster. Then add the music today ticket sales of lets say 200 tickets that's 309 tickets sold for the toronto show so there is 1291 tickets still available for the toronto show.

And yes there is bound to be some disappointment on this tour, its unavoidable at this point. Hopefully however they won't see this as means to throw in the towel and walk away but only a info to rebuild there strategy for when they hopefully return.
And as for the survey . . . . ummmm. I can't remember where it was. *laughs* It might have been on Free Will but most likely it was not. Maybe it was on one of those petition websites? But if I remember correctly it was being done by people who had an actual connection to the band. shrug.

The only survey I remember was on the FWA website after the tour in Feb? or FVT? It had that sort of questions as to how much you'd travel and stuff. There was also a prize at the end. I hardly remember it now though.

A prize? Was that the family values thing? Yeah this one was pretty basic stuff too "how far would you travel" "what is your favorite album?" "what are your 3 fav songs?" "what merch would you like to see?" Only this was up on the web for YEARS!

I do hope if the venues aren't very full diru's management company or the place that books the venues will learn and book smaller venues to have a better chance of selling out. For me it's dangerious at the Diru concert in Toronto since they'll be serving alcoholic beverages for anyone 19+ X_X i'll wind up getting a drink or two unless their really expensive then i'll pass.

I heard that Dir en grey are doing a Tour in the States in Febuary. >.>;;; I have the so called Tour dates, if you want I could post them later.
Angel the February tour is what we've been talking about.
As for the venues not all being sell outs yet adding dates it does make sense. Cause if you all remember last year when they were doing their, i guess you would call it a preview tour, they moved the California show to a larger venues based on the ticket sales there and how the new york show sold out so fast.
As for the survey thing I remember filling one out a while a go. And it did ask how far you'd be willing to go to see them. I think the problem came up when people filled out these insane distances with out considering the reality of going that far (cost of transportation, people to go with you, and time off from school/work/etc.).
And I'm sure that those in Diru's management and at Warcon know what they are doing and have warned the boys about potentially having some less then stellar crowds. Besides I'm thinking they went through the same stuff getting into the european music scene.

IkaruJaki brings up a good point and one I have to agree with, I am sure that Diru's management is aware that there might not be that big of a turn out but up until now they've had such sucess I suppose this was a less of a gamble in their minds.

California they have 3 shows there now 2 in LA 1 in San Fran, alot of the people who we're going to the LA show that live in northern cali are selling their tickets to the first LA show to go to the one in San Fran so now they could get rid of the 2nd LA show they added because the 1st one won't be as packed. Another one is the 2 in Texas just have one, but at the bigger venue. Then there is the Colorado and Arizona, they could of easily solved that by instead of having shows in 2 different states have the show in New Mexico so it's equal distance for people to travel. The Toronto show could honestly stand to be at a smaller venue it holds 1600 people and say they only sell 500 tickets that's still 1100 tickets that they didn't sell where they could of had a smaller venue that would be easier to fill up.
