Dir en grey

Both pictures made me laugh...out loud. Love them. And speaking of foochin'...sea monster, you changed your avatar!! I really liked it...

hey
i havnt been on a computer in so long .. it feel wierd, lol

can someone tell me if they are actually coming back to Canada for concert in Feb

r they actually coming here in feb?? thats like, the best news ever, if its actually true! *crosses fingers*

i thought when kyo fell down originally it was just part of the whole concert thing, but then when he didn't get back up i realised it wasnt on purpose!! poor kyo! the concert was awsome though, there were so many deg fans, i expected like, 10, but there was like 500 instead! lol

So I saw Dir en grey in Hartford, Connecticut yesterday.

Awesome!!!

I got anxious when they rolled Shinya's drum kit out, I got even more antsy when they started pulling up the banner, the excitement built even more when Kyo's red box was brought out... but when G.D.S. started playing... I pretty much just exploded. The set was amazing, and I couldn't believe how great Kyo's voice sounded. Given the quality of his vocals in the lives on the singles for "Clever Sleazoid" and "Ryoujoku no ame," I wasn't expecting top quality, but he nailed every last scream and high note. And -- SHOCK! -- he even sang almost all of the lyrics! Well, save for when he starts clawing inside his mouth during "Kodoku ni shisu, yue ni kodoku." And they played "Audience Killer Loop," which I wasn't expecting. That made me happy since it's one of my favourites off Vulgar. Also, "Ryoujoku no ame" sounded incredible live. I was afraid a song with so many gorgeous melodic subtleties wouldn't translate well to a live performance, but they nailed all of it. It gave me goosebumps from head to toe.

And, yes, the bucket is a wonderful sight to see. Just the idea of this little man screaming with a bucket over his head is delightful.

So, I bought a copy of Vulgar at the venue (cos the copy I had is one of those evil bootlegs from Miya Records) and my friend bought Six Ugly so we could meet two of the guys. After Diru's set, we went to get in line to meet them and I was shocked at how many people there were in line. I know they have a decent following in the U.S., but wow! I was excited that there were so many adoring fans there.

So, at my show, we got to meet Kaoru and Die. The closer we got to them, the more jittery I got until, finally, I was face to face with them and shaking their hands. I told myself that I would ramble off a little greeting to them in Japanese, but I couldn't get anything out; all I did was give each of them a little nod/bow when I shook their hands. They both gave me a reassuring nod back, and the look in their eyes was incredibly sincere; you could see the appreciation they had for our support even though they couldn't express it in our language.

And, heh... they were so cute and little. I always forget how dainty they are because I always see them on stage rocking out and making lots of big noise.

You know, I always used to roll my eyes whenever girls would get all squealy over Dir en grey. I mean, I can understand the excitement because I love the band to death and they're one of my absolute favourites, but I just couldn't understand why the girl fans would scream and jump for them like hyper little bunnies. But yesterday happened, and I completely understood. I didn't actually squeal and bounce, but I sure did on the inside. I was all smiles.

Which is particularly noteworthy what with me being a guy and all.

Hahaha, great pics. Great story. I heard the Wantagh, NY show was terrible. The place was flooded, so DeG didn't even perform (after saying they would perform in 3 hours, people waited and they ended up getting screwed). I would have been so pissed if I went.

Saishu: that was a great report. And haha... sorry to say but reading your post you did sound like a fangirl but then when I realized you were a guy it was really cute lol. Sorry if that offends you.

And yea I heard the Jones Beach venue was cancelled and Diru didn't play. OMG that was the venue I would have went to if I stayed at home. I would have been so so disappointed!

But tomorrow they are playing at Saratoga which is 40 min away from my school and I can't go because I have classes. That makes me so sad especially after hearing that great report from Saishu. But hopefully one day I can go to a show dedicated only to Diru. (truthfully I wouldn't have been happy waiting through all the bands in FVT until Diru came on)

Nah, don't worry, Precious, I'm not offended. I may be a guy but I'm completely comfortable enough with myself to say how much I love those guys. And, hey, even I have to admit that they're almost abnormally beautiful. You know how you see someone really beautiful on TV or in movies and you figure they can't really look like that in person? Honestly, no exaggeration, Kaoru and Die look no different up close and in person than they do in any of their recent videos and DVDs.

And I didn't bother with the first few bands, either. Diru went on just a little after 5pm, so we got there at 4pm just so we could have enough to time to buy a CD, get the wristband, and then find our seats. Diru was the reason why I went to the show, so I wasn't going to torture myself by sitting thru a bunch of mediocre bands while waiting for them.

Flyleaf was playing while we waited in line to meet Kaoru and Die. We stayed for Stone Sour and Deftones (Stone Sour was pretty good, but Deftones had their sound so loud that we couldn't make anything out; it was disappointing) and then left after that.

Yeah, that's right, we didn't stay for Korn. The headlining band.

Oh well!

i might stay for korn, only because i was a fan of theirs about 9 years ago, lol. but then again i cant imagine them playing anything that old, maybe one song or two but not too many. and i have photography class the next day :]

aw, and i was surprised to see that you are a guy at the end of that report, hahaha. i don't pay attention to the info under the avatar, sorry. i'm so excited about seeing them live that when i listen to anything and sing along to it, i start crying because i am imagining their performance and me singing along.

i want to write them each a letter of gratitude and such...but i don't know how well they can read english, and i have no one to help me with the japanese -____- but then again i might just do it and give it to them whether or not they can read it. it's more for myself than anything, you know? i have so much to say to them...and it's none of that repetetive "gosh you guys are so great and hot tee hee" crap...yet, i still want them to know what i have to say. i hope maybe someone can read it to them, if they can't read it themselves. .____. i need to do this. the only thing in my head lately is what i want to say in my letters, and there's so muchhh >< i'm freakin' crying now just thinking about it .__.

^ Hahaha if I ever gave them a letter I would just attach a picture of myself making a thumbs up sign and then writing "I Love Your Music. You guys ROCK"

The End. (now don't go stealing my idea LOL!)

And Saishu: I'm sure they are beautiful in real life too! I really want to meet Shinya. He's my favorite band member. But Toshiya and Kyo would do. Well so would Kaoru and Die lol. But if I had to pick two I would say Shinya and Kyo.

wow. you guys are soo lucky to be going to FVT. I would've went when they played in Cali but I didn't have money and my parents wouldn't buy them for me. Besides, I think I would have been out of place there XD so I think I'll just wait 'til they have their own concert.....I wanna meet Die sooooo bad.....

@ Saishu: love your report! thanks! 👍

lol I shouldn't bother about listening to a mix of music... tis good... :-)

The New Bucket someone saw at the Hartford show had "Don't Fvck With Me" on it. And yes he did put it on his head  But I think I'm going to miss the I'm A Bastard bucket.

^ hahahaha it's amazing how Kyo can keep the bucket on his head and still sing. I would think that it will just cover his whole head or fall off.

:( :( :( Waaa!! i'm behind~!.... way~ behind!

um..... ok... going to make statements only on the most recent posts..... because... i don't want to go back and re-read everything that i didn't get to reply to/comment on last time i was at a computer....... <.<;;;;

oh, but first... good news, for me, anyway.... i have internet~! *dances* ahem... now that that is out of my system..... <.<;

sea monster spit: nice pic... really fitting, and how did you manage to come across a pic with such good timing as that? oh well, it's still nifty! oh, and nice avitar!... now i get to feel really stupid...... who is on your avitar? o.O; like i said, i get to feel stupid now.

Thirteen:      five '''s for the five guys featured in your captions! and another  for you for making it/them!

oh, and i could sooooo see Kyo in a Final Destination movie, but it would be really funny if he was the lone surviver in the movie. you know, the one that you keep thinking is going to be the next to go, because he is so accident prone, but he ends up being the last one left alive and kicking... or... jamming.... in his case...... <.<; ok... yeah.. don't mind me, i'm just commenting on something way up there, and that i didn't get the chance to before.....

Hahaha DBSK. For some reason no matter how nice their voices sound, the music just makes me want to bleh* when it's too poppy or generic. I think that's why I started listening to JRock and other types of rock. Pop is alright in small doses. If I had to listen to it all day I will go insane. (ex. the new Danity Kane song made me want to rip my ears off)

OHHHH!!! THE ONE..YEAH LOL! iono i was just looking through FVT photos hahahaha. and i was like "wow, it looks like toshiya is vomiting and kyo's all like 'what B-TCH THATS MY JOB!!" LOLOL!!!!
i quite honestly don't remember who is in my avatar, i found it somewhere and really liked it. i don't even remember where i got it. *thinks for ahwile* hmmm.
so don't worry, i feel stupid too. 8D

boobiebutt: o.o; um... 😊 i don't really see anything wrong with his shirt.... 😌 i mean, Toshiya has worn much worse, and he's been through fashion.

sea monster spit: sorry for confusing you... i guess i should have copied it, but i didn't think about the possibility that my post would start the next page.... 😌 sorry.
oh, it's okay then... i was just going to see if i could find images of the rest of his band and some of their music..... heh.. we can feel stupid together, ne? ^.~

advigilo: sorry, i don't know of any... so far the only info that they've posted as far as touring is concerned [to my knowledge] is the FVT and in the [a knot] fanclub information things, they've gotten tour dates through Sept. and Oct. in Japan. but... as of yet, i don't know about Canada or Europe.

eH? are you talking about your avatar right now?
If you are then that's RUKI!! in his Taion outfit lol.

Yea I think Kyo likes to wear fruity Hawaiin shirts now. I've seen him in a few. But yes he can wear whatever he wants and can look darn good in it.

^ hahaha well those pics were kinda new and they weren't spread around as much so it's reasonable that it's not easily recognizable.

Anywho, can I ask a favor of someone in here? Does anyone have unknown...despair...a lost? (please please please) I've been trying to find it. Thanks in advance!🙂

So those whole rumors of them not coming to the U.S. were false? Yay! I hope they play in Canada and the U.S., that'll be cool
This is how I think of it, it's all just rumored unless it appears on Diru's offical webpage, FWA or Warcon (for the US and Canada). I've never heard anything about them not going to come back to the US except what few people have said, but people will say stuff just to say it, like with Diru not coming back to the US.
