Child Prey is the second opening for Baki... I've got the first few dvd's of it, but i haven't gotten around to watching them... anyway, it was mentioned in an issue of NewType a while back... that's how I found out about it in the first place.

All I know is the name, the fact that Diru are doing the opening, and that it is basically about a boxer... <.<;

Ive never noticed Kyo rapping

o.O; really? have you ever listened to IIID Empire? There is a really good example of a song in which Kyo raps. It is one of my favorites. ^.^

Kyo raps all of the time ... Jesus Christ R'n R even has a little bit of a hip-hop beat going on at the beginning, lol. I think Embryo is my favorite example.

That's another good one... i just couldn't think of it because i had IIID Empire stuck in my head.... I had just watched some of the Vulgar[ism] tour, and it is like the third song on the dvd... so... yeah..... it's nifty though. ^.^

^well, you know, I don't want them to be known by the wrong people. You know are people are...well, at least here in Argentina is terrible what MTV do with some bands..
yes you're right vivaplus(stupid channel XD)
has send a vk special and after that they have shown a dir en grey live concert but they always show the wrong song titel テカhm... for example it was played The Final and vivaplus said that this was Saku!and by obscure they said it was the final XD
oh and Bravo a (stupid) teen magazin wrote about dir en grey (i've heard it from a friend) i think that's not good T.T
(i hope you understand what i mean XD)

I understand exactly what you mean. What is really sad about the whole thing is that most bigshots in the media will try and give them bad names, just because they are not from the same region. For example, part of the reason that Diru has had to wait so long to do a concert/tour in America is because venues were under the impression that they didn't have a large enough fan-base to be able to make them (the venues) any money. But, luckily Diru have a very good persuasionist as a leader. Kaoru made an offer the venues couldn't refuse.... I bet they were shocked when the tickets sold out. :LOL:

^ LoL oh Kaoru. What deal did he make? I'm pretty interested....

I think a lot of people are shocked when some JRock bands come here and there's swarms of fans and the show gets sold out.

I'm not entirely certain exactly what happened, but I know that Kaoru told the NY venue that there would be good ticket sales, and that if there wasn't, and they didn't drop the show rights, then he would personally pay them double what they actually pulled in for the show. Originally, there were going to be 10 shows, but venues kept dropping them, until there were only the three... while arrangements for the LA show were being made, Kyo reportedly gave them an earful when they also considered dropping the rights.

You know, one would think that after it happened enough times, the shock factor would wear off. *sighs* Some people just aren't too quick, are they?

hana: Yeah, I would have loved to see some of the faces on the bigshots who told Diru they couldn't play at their venues the first time around.
Oh, and I wanna hug the singer for KoRn for recognizing a good band, and getting Diru on their tour.

wow is that why all the confusion happened for the LA show and it took so long for everything to confirm? Haha I wondered what Kyo said.

Oh and by rapping you guys mean talking i thought you meant rhyming. Yes I have heard kyo talking in some songs like koduo was one on WTD.

yeah, that is part of why there was confusion. lol i wouldn't mind finding out what Kyo said, either. i'm sure it would definately put into perspective that size doesn't matter.

o.O; um.. i don't think there -is- a whole lot that rhymes with his lyrics.... and i'm sure anything that does is just coincidence.... he doesn't seem to really try for that effect, you know? But, yes, we were reffering to talking when we were saying rapping.... or, i know i was... <.<;

I thought free-will was suppose to take care of everything so why did Kaoru and Kyo have to do it?

The only person I have heard rapping in the true sense of the word was Ruki. Heh you guys had me confused.

Kyo rhymes every once in a while with his stuff, but you don't have to rhyme to rap necessarily ... just feel the flow

hahahaha ... don't pay attention to me

and yeah, how do you know it was Kyo and Kaoru who said anything to the venues, wouldn't it have been free-will doing all of the negotiations?

I'm going by what I read.... It said that they had been present, and that was the only part of the negotiations that they actually said anything for. It's most likely because they were getting tired of being dropped by venues. <.<;

Haha. Pretty much. Baki the Grappler is actually pretty horrible. The storyline is treachorous and the animation is really dramatized.
The English Translated opening is Child Prey by DEG, but the only decent video of it I can find is on YouTube and a guy recorded his computer screen. xDD

So really I don't think it's worth of the fame DEG has, but Funimation likes to make all the Japanese show's opennings into English....But I don't see how Child Prey fits in with Baki the Grappler. ><

Go Kaoru and Kyo! 📣 📣 📣
That's pretty interesting. They get the last laugh, anyway! 👍
Shows that they pay attention to their fanbase... ^^

Stupid Americans underestimating Dir en grey. And you know Dir en grey got good Buzz from selling out just those 2 shows and SxSW. So imagine how much media attention if they could have gotten all 10 shows like they wanted. Cause I gaurentee you they would have sold out.

As for them being on TV, The Final has played Fuse, MTV 2 -Saku- and someone said, although I have never seen it to verify if it was true or not that Clever Sleazoid has played late night on MTV.

And you know what I am hearing different reports as to who it was that got them the slot on the FVT. Someone said it was Munky and Jon who saw them live in L.A. Someone on Batsu is claiming that it was Corey from Slipknot/Stone Sour who got them on.

Well whoever it is I thank them.

Also Kyo doesn't Rap in a traditional sense, but a good number of his songs has rapping vocals. Childen as well always seemed rappish to me, as well as Embryo and as Sunsweet pointed out Jesus Christ RnR has a very hip hop beat in the begginning.

Yes, I agree totally. *nods* I'm sure that if they had gotten the original 10 shows, they would have sold out, granted there is a -slight- chance tickets would have lasted a little longer.

Yeah, I heard about that... however, I don't watch tv unless it is on a disc, so I can't really find out. <.<;

Um... I would assume it was someone from KoRn who actually got them on, considering that they are going to be a several special shows that are not part of the tour. If you go to www.free-will-america.com , you can see the list of locations. OKC and Las Vagas, as well as others, are on there as special shows that are not part of the tour. They will only have KoRn, Dir en grey, and, for some, Flyleaf. So it would only make sense that someone from KoRn got them in. <.<; At least that is what makes sense to me...
Yes, they have my thanks, too.

Yeah, but I love the songs none the less.

Dir en Grey played on MTV2? Hmm. I'll have to look out for -Saku- then. [I am not able to get Fuse, sadly.]
Any idea what time or slot they some on at? Any sort of special name for it?

.

It was on Headbangers ball which comes on at 10pm EST on Saturdays. Its no time slot you just have to watch the show and grit through all the crappy bands (not all are crappy but alot are) till they show the pv if they show it at all

When it came on I was actually dozing off, but the scream in the beggining woke me up :D
