Dir en grey

But they are making the kind of music they want to make... why be mad at them for doing what they want to do. I'm happy for them. 😌
is it because they want to? or are they trying to sell to america?

No more suffering for me. Not for a while anyways. Now that I have the songs to [Coll:Set], I will be in a Haven I've never known about for many weeks to come. Then I'll be pining to the Murder Day DVD even more. :(
I just can't stop listening to Infection 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍 it's sooooooooooo beautiful!!!!

I agree with you pkk, Dir en grey is just making music, and doing what they want to do, and if they want to make heavier music right now, then let them make heavier music. I've always stood behind Dir en grey, I've loved everything and I still do. I'm also happy for them, I think that clip is just awesome. I can't wait till the next album comes out. ... I have an interview with Shinya and Kaoru talking about CLEVER SLEAZOID, if anybody's interested, I can post it...:?

miz: i can understand that, i've heard a lot of people say that.
OMG i do that TOOOOOOO!! i seriously thought i was the only one who sits there and listens to each part of the song! (i get very upset wheni can't hear Totchi and am constantly fixing the bass on my cd player during certain songs...😌) OMG i know those drums are THE SEX!! that and i LOVELOVELOVE the drums in Yokan!! i don't know why, but they are the reason i love that song!! 😍 i always enjoy Shinya's music because it's always a bit quirky like Ugly. :D he's so cool!

I get frustrated when I can't hear Toshiya, nao, Zero, or any other bassist in a song. I really love songs that you can hear the bass in, it's the finishing element of a song. Shinya's music is always very good. I love Ugly. It's one of my fav. Diru songs... aw to Hell with it, ALL of Diru's songs are my fav. :D :D :D

Would you please post it... I don't believe I have that one. :-)

No... I don't think so. You think America of all places would be willing to pop out her shell and "accept" something that is doesn't sound like every crap piece of music that gets made here. No I think were safe from such horrible tragedies such as that. Besides... in a recent interview they asked "I see you use english lyrics in your songs. And touring over seas. Is there any hope of an english album." Die laugh and simply stated. "We're Japanese"

I think the Shinya-Kaoru interview was on JAME, was it not?

Hmm, I think that they just make what kind of music they want... all bands change somehow their sound over time, sometimes I don't like everything one band makes but only early stuff or later stuff... I like most of Diru's music so far though...

Yes Kinsao, it was from JAME.... but for all the Diru fans, I'll post it here... just cause I'm so damn nice :D

Interviewer will be in red ink
Kaoru will be in purple ink
Shinya will be in blue ink

Nice to meet you, I represent Jmusiceuropa... and promise I won't ask you the meaning of Dir en Grey or what visual-kei really is about.
First of all, I'd like you to tell us about your next maxi-single a little: Clever Sleazoid. Musically, will it a ballad like Kasumi, something more violent like Saku, or in between like The Final?

Kaoru: It will be the most aggressive song in our history.

Who found the title for this song?

Kaoru: Kyo-kun did.

And what does it mean??

Kaoru: He's a vulgar and wise person, both at once. He's someone who went so far into darknesss and glaucous that he cannot come back from there.

Three live songs also appear on this maxi-single, where were they recorded?

Kaoru: They were recorded at our concert at Shinkiba Coast in late April.

I'd like to speak of your concerts in Europe now, first of all the one in Berlin. We could feel you were a little stressed at the beginning of the concert, how did you feel like?

Kaoru: We were very surprised when we saw fans waiting in front of the venue several days before the concert. We believed that people probably wouldn't move because it was so hot (nota: 32ツ≫?ケC), but they shouted and moved a lot. We were glad, but we were scared.
Even before we came on stage, some people had already fainted. Kyo was worried. But the audience was quite motivated, so we were too. When we came on stage we were happy, and we were for all of the concert. No one got seriously injured, so we enjoyed the show.

At Rock am Ring you shared the stage with very improtant/famous bands, were you impressed?

Shinya: Every band there inspired us more or less, it would be too difficult to name one only.

Kaoru: We were very impressed. There was a huge contrast between Japan and Rock am Ring. We're famous in Japan, so we get the big dressing-rooms, while here we were with a lot of bands who are famous all over the world and our dressing-room was small compared to theses other bands'. It made us remember who we are. Before we came, we thought: We're gonna do the Rock am Ring, after that we can die!. Now we want to go on to get the big dressing-rooms.

About your concert in France yesterday now. How was it this time?

Kaoru: We are very happy we could play at the Olympia because this venue is very famous. But we had a little problem: it had been two months we hadn't played any concert, the last one was in Berlin. So we feared we could be a little rusty, but we got a lot of support from the crowd, who was yelling and getting excited. We arrived early in the morning and had nothing to do backstage. When we arrived on stage, we saw that the crowd was glad, and it went crescendo until the end of the concert. The two-three last songs were fantastic, we were at the level we usually are.

Shinya: What impressed me the most was that the balcony was very close from us, I had a perfect view over the crowd. I was very impressed by the audience.

Why don't you play Garden anymore, not even at the 5Blitz where you played a lot of songs from every album? Is this song part of a period of Dir en Grey you'd rather forget about?

Kaoru: It seemed natural for us not to play it at 5Blitz. We choose the songs we play depending on our mood. If we had to do the 5Blitz again now, set-lists could be different.

And finally: could you tell us about your plans for the future?

Kaoru: After the maxi-single that will be released in September, we're planning to go on tour in Japan until the end of the year and to do some promotion in magazines and on TV. But we can't tell more because nothing is official for now, nothing was announced. Next year, there will be a new album and an exclusive release for our fan-club. There will also be a big surprise very soon.

Thanks to the both of you for this interview!

Sadly, Shinya doesn't really contribute a whole lot to the interview. But he did contribute, even if only a little.

🙏 Average psyco I love you! Thanks a lot!

And I almost startet to cry when Kaoru talked about Berlin. i was there, and to know that they was scared before entering the stage is just too much.

🙂 :-) Just read this one more time:

I know. I read that interview a gazillion times. And each time, I get more and more excited about the "big surprise"

but see the japanese music industry is different, any major band would have to follow their comany's instructions and marketing ideas. maybe they thought their older style wont appeal to the American population, so they changed the style. i mean i really don't think America will accept guys dressing like girls, at least the government wont. the japanese is really interested in being "in trend" and i guess this is why a lot of the bands stop being VK. i like Diru for changing because it doesn't get boring, but after two albums, and from the sounds of the new single it sounds like they might go for the ssame style next album which has got me worried. they've lost a lot of the creativity in composing they had for their earlier songs.

@Average_Psycho: thanks for the interview!

also on the interview: lol to the dressing rooms! wow the suprise~! hmm what would that be... America? damn i need to save up money... how much do you think the tickets will be?

^^ Any time. I also found the UV interviews about Vulgar... but I'm not sure anyone would be interested about those.....

I think the tickets would be a little cheaper than they sell them in Japan, I mean, they would be new to the audiences, and ... I dunno. The tickets probably wouldn't be above $50 -guessing from currency exchange-

SWEET! you think there'll be like VIP passes?

Tickets... it depends... could be as low as $20 or as high as $55... who knows... maybe more. If I had to take a guess I would say $35.

Anyway... bleh I don't feel like repeating myself. I'm not sure just how far back you think they changed... Vulgar, Withering Death, or Clever Sleazoid. Dir en grey has always been changing... I might as well add all their other albums and La:Sadie's work to that too. Why do you think they would stop changing? (That's not supposed to sound mean... I just can't get my head around that one... it makes no sense and I can't get in your head and really understand where your coming from or what you mean. :sorry:)

Thanks for the interview... I already read it though but thanks. :-)

*giggles at this part* --> "He's a vulgar and wise person, both at once." :giggle:

no no, see i like them changing at every album, but they've stopped changing. Vulgar, Withering to Death and the new single have small differences but overall very similar. i guess they've started this new style since Vulgar and kinda stayed there. besides i see a lack in creativity in composing since Vulgar as well...

Yeah, relatively cheap, and I'm going by Canadian dollars so.... They might have VIP.... if they do and they come to Canada (more specifically Edmonton Alberta:D) I would be first in line!! :D

I love that quote. And Ka-chan called Kyo "Kyo-kun" 😍 Sure, he lets him call him that, but what about everyone else?

maybe im wrong my thoughs change often. i think it's that after i saw the Osaka Jo hall show in 1999 video i'd give anything to see a concert like that again. i still heart Diru with all my heart.

Yea... bring Coll:Set. 😍

ZOMBOID...... *sighs* Karasu... song that makes me want to have seizures or something... Pink Killer... do I even need to say it again... I want to put myself in straightjacket and tthrow myslef against walls to that song. 😍 :D

If you have Kisou album... bring that with you... it makes for loads of fun and thrashing about. :D There will never be a dull un-numb from to much self inflicted harm moment.

I've always wanted to see Diru live, ever since I heard my friends who listened to them, and who also *somehow* heard clips of them live or something. They'd keep going on and on about how awesome they were, I'd become so jealous. But now I have final 2003 5 Ugly KINGDOM, and everything's all good. I'm buying The Code of Vulgar[ism] this fall. And of course, once they release It Withers and Withers, I'll buy that too :-)

Certainly Coll:Set will accompany me on my travels! I listened to 4 tracks this morning. 😌

Can't choose - I think I'll just buy one of those old lady shopping trolley things and stuff it full of CDs. 😆

oh yeah, I'd kill to see Diru live. I just hope they come to Europe some time soon - when I'm actually paying attention! :( :angryfire:

sigh, i can't buy things online... a lot of the thing i encounter are bootlegs :glare: however i was fortunate enough to download Blitz5Days, Macabre DVD and Osaka Jo Hall. Speaking if 5 ugly kingdom, is that the one where they went to China?
